Hey there, this is my first message cause I had always solved every problem reading your topics.
I bought a new switch unfortunately already banned with a Nintendo account already logged, I create a new user not linked with Nintendo to play games...the guy who sold me the console didn't remember account login so I don't know how to remove it from the console. Is a factory reset a possible solution? What I will miss during the process? Can I restore my save games after the reset using Edizon or Checkpoint? Will I loose everything related to my current account i'm using to play?
Thanks guys ;)

welcome to GBATemp by the way ;)

Thanks! The only way is then the factory reset but I don't understand if I can recovery in any way my saved game [emoji848] obviously I can't use Nintendo cloud storage for them but something like Checkpoint or Edizon is suitable for it?

I'am not sure if i read your first post right!
You BOUGHT a NEW Switch with a bundled account and already banned?!

But maybe i read it wrong ;) (wouldn't be the first time ;))

Make saves form your saves with one of the named homebrew apps and after "resetting" your Switch (if you want to use CFW again) you can restore them.
Thats how i do it between my 2 Switch!

No I bought an old switch already banned. OK if I can use CP or Edizone it solve my problem :).
Last question, can be the switch used without a Nintendo account linked? Considering the switch is banned I doubt I can link user to a Nintendo account. Sorry but this is my first Nintendo console, understand me [emoji2957]

I'am not sure if a "reset" of the console will unlink the account. (or delete it)
But if not contact the one who sold it to you he/she/it can do it over the Internet and unlink the account.
Anyway you will NEVER EVER bring that Switch online again because it is banned.
So deleting the account (that is not yours) is more like a "cosmetic" change ;)

P.S. you can use a switch without a linked account (the one of my son NEVER had a linked account and he can play mostly everything)
BUT!
You can never play games or use apps (youtube) that need a linked account!

Yes, it is just a cosmetic change.
OK, you convince me to postpone the reset in a future [emoji14] I don't want to take the risk to reset and reinstall everything with maybe the account problem not solved. Thanks [emoji120][emoji120][emoji120]

You can always call Nin. They can unlink for you once you explain that you bought a Switch "and didnt know it was banned". They wont unban it but they will unlink it for you

UPDATE: Finally i solved my problem.
First of all i made backup of my saved data game using checkpoint and moved them on PC.
I tried factory reset in the setting menu but it refused because my Nintendo services are limited due console ban so i did it through the recovery (power + vol+ + vol- ) everything went well.
at that point the switch was as a new console to set (obviously banned) but completely free to can add new users linked or not with a nintendo account (not the previous one already linked before the factory reset).
at least i moved saved data game into checkpoint folder and restored all of them. NB: before to let checkpoint recognize the old saved data game you have to start the related game at least 1 time in order to let the console create and allocate the saved game.

I'm sorry to bump the thread, but I have a similar problem. I bought a Switch with an account already linked, but have lived with it for now. I have already used choidujournx to update from 2.3 -> 5.0.1, so should I first restore 2.3 before doing the reset?
