Sorry for asking this rather noob question (I guess), but I can't seem to find a clear answer anywhere

I am just getting started with GCN via VC injection. So far tried four games: Smash, F-Zero, Sunshine, Kart. Every games seems to be 4:3. I have tried changing to Force widescreen and I have tried using Wii U widescreen. No effect.

What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance.

I left Wii U widescreen always on and I don't use force widescreen since we cant use one configuration per game just global
Alternatively I use cheats for widescreen hacks.

Thanks. But I have already tried only using Wii U widescreen and that doesn't do it. I am hoping not to use cheats as that would be yet another layer. But should it work with just Wii U widescreen? If so what could be the reason that this isn't working? It must have been something I have done, but I can't seem find out what.

I think you have to use both together and even not all games have compatibility with force widescreen but the games you have mentioned, I have Sunshine Injected using widescreen cheats and works great for me. Remebering when I had a Wii this worked with force widescreen too

I installed nintendont forwarder on wiiu with gcn isos on sd and can configure it before starting each game as some ok with widescreen and some not.

Best way, imo. My vwii is not even softmodded.

Yeah. But I'd really like the games to be injects. The Nintendont forwarder - I tried to download it from USB helper and it says I've done so, but there's nothing in the games folder.

I think I found out the problem. When changing settings in Nintendont/vWii they were not remembered, so I changed that file on the SD root generated from the VC injector app. Now it remembers and defaults to 16:9.

Can you specify the file you changed on the root? I'm having the same widescreen problem with injects as you and I can't figure out what to change. Thanks

The Nintendont config file is what they're referring to. Your injection tool of choice should have it either under the settings or as a stand alone button you just click

Also remember to select the right drive and always update your Nintendont, and if you want to use the gamepad as a Classic Controller remember to use the Classic Controller options

You may need to pick "force Classic Controller" if the regular Classic Controller setting isn't working
