there's literally NO (easy) way i can reset the 2DS to the point when i first turned it on after i bought it? without any nintendo ID entered, any personal data - just a fresh 2DS with mario bros. 2 preinstalled. so even if i wanna sell it without the CFW, i can't sell it as i initally bought it - since people will wonder why the game shown on the packaging is not on the device and can't be downloaded again either.
there is no legal way it can easily be done but not legally
i pretty much have to sell it with the CFW now since thats the only proper reason why the game is missing :_)
no just make it clear in your description that its used and includes the console only (no game)
so the best thing, if i wanna sell it with the CFW installed, is to deinstall the CFW properly, update to the latest OFW to make sure everything is in it's right place again and then use the frogminer method to get back on the latest CFW again. please confirm, thanks ;) and, again: thanks a lot for your patience and help!
no if you want to sell it with cfw installed then just follow the instruction for a9lh to b9s including the firmware update, then in system settings factory reset the console, then put the sd card in the pc and delete its contents then follow this post

this error i have never seen . . . @TurdPooCharger . . . you have any idea what that error means?
Erh, late to the party. Having trouble reading what happened. Sorry, I'm a bit down under the weather. That error occurred due to old version of GodMode9 not recognizing newer scripting code.

I hope @hurtlocker90 didn't uninstall custom firmware. If he did, it's possible he can softbrick the 3DS once it's removed. Restoring a corrupt NAND image, A9LH → B9S, and CTRTransfer runs a high risk of having mismatch signatures and title versions.

the order was more like this
Restoring a corrupt NAND image, CTRTransfer, A9LH → B9S, uninstall custom firmware . . . with this order he at least gets an official update (late in the process) ... do you really foresee issues with that ? i would assume the update from 11.5 to 11.9 would handle that

Well i actually did get rid of the CFW after updating from a9lh to b9s and then updating the firmware while still on CFW. But it seems to be working just fine. What i planned to do next is to update to the newest OFW and then install CFW again via frogminer. Any possible issues with that?

Well, hurtlocker90 already mentioned his CFW removal went without a hitch.. Here goes in explaining anyway. In the Uninstall CFW page, the guide states:
If you have modified critical system software (such as editing the home menu, unbanning your console, etc), uninstalling CFW may BRICK your device!

In the GM9Megascript just before removing CFW, it'll warn you one last time:

From testing the viability of region changing a 3DS firmware and removing the CFW:
As seen from attempts #5 and #6, the 3DS can easily softbrick even if you retain your NAND image, Format System Memory, and update to the latest firmware. If there is any one thing that is off, you're left with NTRboot to recover from. While using a DS flashcart is possible even with a fully deleted 3DS firmware, this method isn't sure proof to work as was previously seen:

You might get a false warning about still having CFW like in:
Why you decided to remove CFW in the first only to put it back on, I can only surmise you have second thoughts of selling the 3DS or found you can earn more money using the CFW as a perk.

well . . . i did warn about false positives but not about editing home, un-banning, and region changing. i assumed the op never performed these actions . . . it just seems like the kind of thing he would have mentioned/questioned if it applied to his case

. . . i advised against that

First off sorry for the late response.

Well, hurtlocker90 already mentioned his CFW removal went without a hitch.. Here goes in explaining anyway. In the Uninstall CFW page, the guide states:

Yes, but the first time i did this during the upgrade from a9lh to b9s i couldn't even get to this step since the scripts wouldn't load up. So i didn't get this warning either. Instead, i rebooted and the working homescreen popped up.

You might get a false warning about still having CFW like in:
Uninstalled luma 11.8, accidentally updated to 11.8
A9LH to BS9 problems help plz
Why you decided to remove CFW in the first only to put it back on, I can only surmise you have second thoughts of selling the 3DS or found you can earn more money using the CFW as a perk.

Mhh i will have to look further into that. So far, going back to CFW is just an option if i can't sell it with the OFW. I'd prefer to sell it without the CFW since it's a bit of a risk to sell it on eBay that way.

well . . . i did warn about false positives but not about editing home, un-banning, and region changing. i assumed the op never performed these actions . . . it just seems like the kind of thing he would have mentioned/questioned if it applied to his case

Yes, never did something like the above mentioned things.

. . . i advised against that

You absolutely did, that's why i haven't done it yet. Selling it without any sort of modification (namely CFW), if possible(!), is/was my priority in the first place.
