So I have a problem with online playing on my switch. For online playing I use the hotspot from my laptop, and Super Mario Odyssey works fine. But recently I downloaded Fortnite from the eShop and I get the error code 2124-4024. No more, no message that I am banned. I closed Fortnite I retry Super Mario Odyssey which still works fine. Yes I installed nsps etc. but Super Mario Odyssey is a legal catridge. So why I getting this error message? Any ideas?

Best regards

Icy

Sounds like you downloaded (not from ninty) fortnite and you are trying to play it online...?

You do realize thats a guaranteed ban yea ? It relays through nintendo's servers so you must authenticate the cert when you start the game and go online. I believe that ban error code is a banned cert error, meaning the cert associated with that nsp is banned. Which would only happen if it was shared/downloaded online.

Basically you probably guaranteed your console ban if you just went online with that. Maybe not this moment, but soon enough!

Person had the same error and it turned out to be due to a faulty SD card.

Game header ban
: Prevents going online with a specific pirated game. (cartridge error code: 2124-4025, digital title error code: 2124-4024).

Wait, i didnt read it fully. So you went online with nsps installed? You shouldnt have gone online. You triggered a red flag. You will probably get banned.

I am not sure but you may be banned from the eshop. Can the switch still enter the eshop or check for game updates?
Yes

I never went online with nsp games, online with legal games

The weird thing is that I downloaded Fortnite legally from the official Nintendo eShop

There is also no sign that I am banned. It only says that an error occurred and that I should retry it. When I go on details there stands that the sever is working and when the problem is still persists I should contact Nintendo Service. (S0002) Whatever this means

Just in case its not clear, 2124-4024 is when an incomplete (originally I was going to say illegitimately, but I'll give OP the benefit of the doubt) ticket. Now the most common way to trigger this is by going online with a fake .NSP file however if we're to believe OP and that he downloaded Fortnite from the eShop, then it may have been a glitch where he didn't get a proper ticket after the download. Either that or OP installed Fortnite as a .NSP file prior to downloading it from the eShop which kept the fake ticket in the system even after downloading it from the eShop.

I have an idea. For a few weeks I installed Fortnite via a nsp but never going online with that. Then I delete the Software and reinstall it from the eShop. I just delete it and then download it again from the eShop

Then there you go. When you installed the Fornite as a .NSP file, it also installed a fake ticket to allow you to launch the game. However that fake ticket is no good for online play. Even if you delete the game, the fake ticket persists in the system. So when you downloaded it from the eShop, you just redownloaded the game.

In case you're wondering, both Tinfoil and Goldleaf can remove tickets, fake or valid.

The part I don't get is why or how anyone would install fortnite as a nsp since the game is free and online only unless it was used as a forwarder of the old Devmenu
2124-4024 is an eshop ban

Yes, I know, I was an idiot. At the time, I thought I was just connecting to the Fortnite servers, not Nintendo's servers. Only the FW 6.2.0 prevents me because at that time the FW was not cracked and therefore I could not perform an update and Fortnite could not play. Thanks to FW 6.2.0

It happens to many ppl don't sweat it. I swear this game gets a update patch like every week its very update heavy so it will require the latest console update as well

Hope u know that NSPs are "instant bans"!
If u have NSPs installed ur switch is banned!
Only by using an EmuNAND with no Internet is able too use these NSPs without ban when u go back to ur sysNAND

you dont need to run the nsp online to get ban , just the fact that you have nsp installed and you are connected to nintendo server can get you banned . it doesnt take that much time going through a bunch of key before sending data to servers , every ticket is scanned if connected .or correct me if im wrong . thats how i understood it .
