Hacking ppsspp questions

i'm playing final fantasy 1 on ppsspp and the game runs pretty well, however, every time i hit the b button, ppsspp brings up the save state window instead of bringing up the in-game menu. is there a way to disable this?

also, i have noticed that ppsspp will hang when in menu when a game is running - is this a known bug? (i wasn't able to find anything googling around. i'm on version 1.7.5-273-g3ad168e1a (compiled via the uwp folder from github)

Have you tried to look at the button mapping on the emulator, it could very well be it has a few buttons miss-mapped.

i tried, but the emulator kept locking up -- i'm going to go with the tried/tested version rather than try to roll my own

@kingtut @dominater01 can either of you provide the patch for the b button fix? i'd like to try to apply it to a newer version. i looked at this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...-one-easy-to-install-runs-fast.468051/page-14 and saw that a github request was supposedly submitted, but going through all the pull requests around that date doesn't show anything.

i have no idea how kingtut patched it, i tried to get him to submit the patch to github but he never did maybe he'll see this post and help

@adambot do you have the latest version of ppsspp for xbox one? would be cool to have even if you cant fix the b button

@dominater01 Yeah, i currently have the newest git version. I'll go back and get the official release, package it up and post it for anyone who wants it. then if/when we figure out the b button thing i'll update the package

I've talked to KingTut as well as the main dev of ppsspp. I'm going to work on KingTut's method as a temporary fix until the main dev is able to implement some of the documentation i found but couldn't code. Issue can be found here: https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp/issues/10948

Sorry -- Busy holidays. I'm back and in the process of trying to replicate KingTut's solution now.

i think the latest build is broken when compiling it didnt work for me

maybe i just dont know how to compile it so if you could get it working with any pls share and we all look forword to it

forgot to mention that there is a dependency appx in there as well, so when you sideload the main appx you have to also load the dependency

edit: is there anyway you could make a Cheats folder and put this in it and then recompile it? we dont have access to that folder on xbox one and cheats are kinda a big deal (fo me)

I got the full screen working. Thanks for helping with that. Is there a way to make my games appear in the games menu? I did this before ages ago but can't seem to do that now. It's no biggie cos I can just load them using the load button. Also any suggested settings for a good all round picture that will let higher end games play ok? Trying God of war which works ok but I do have filters exc turned on. The game play is ok with minor lag but cutscenes don't show

Doesn't it automatically create a PSP folder when you first start ppsspp? then in that folder should be a cheats folder (among others)
