You'll also need a decent virus scanner too, because they love to put malware, etc on torrents

Most people on YT have no credibility, either

Of course and check the NSP to ensure that they are validated (no fake NSP with brick code).

That why I don't watch YT anymore, especially worthless, pathetic guys on talk shows with full of trolling comments.

I've lived mostly in areas of the US where ISPs really didn't care. Until recently, anyway. And now, having moved to a more tech-oriented section of the country and all the extra knuckling down everyone's up to... I'm glad I have a VPN, regardless of the reasons.

Hmmm, I have questions about VPNs, how much and do they throttle/affect download speed?

I highly doubt this is real. That letter had a spot for "Content URL." As long as you're using HTTPS, and you're not connecting directly to Nintendo's servers to download shit, your download should be encrypted and you don't have to worry about your ISP seeing anything.

Basically, they can tell that you've been downloading something from Mega/GDrive/1fichier/Mediafire/etc., but they have no proof that what you were downloading was copyrighted material.

Heck, even if you were using HTTP, neither your ISP nor Nintendo would be able to tell unless they were "snooping" on you, which most ISPs don't want to be publicly outed for.

Basically, the only way you'd be caught this way is either using a torrent, or if Nintendo started tracking IPs of people downloading titles they don't own from their CDN.

Long story short, it's down to how fast your connection is in the first place, plus how far away the VPN server you're connecting to is from you. The service I use has a few very local connections, so my latency is almost nothing.

EDIT: I forgot throttling/bandwidth. Some do throttle. At that point you're into looking at what different providers offer, which I can't really speak to.

~110 mbps down, 15 mbps up, not sure what the closest VPN server is to here though. Ugh. I mean, I've never had my ISP tell me to stop downloading ROMs either, so, IDK.
