Hacking Game Updates - Do they roll up?

I don't want to assume so I thought I would ask. Do game updates roll up or do you need to patch in succession?

I guess the second option. You can install just the newest/latest one.

you can just install the latest. no need to install in succession. However I don't know what happens if you install a lower update version on top of a higher. I don't think it rolls the update backwards. anybody want to clarify this for me?

Do you need update 1 then update 2 then 3 to play the game?
Or could i install only update 3 and i'am good to go?

I already told you to get latest. so just get update 3. Now my question is if you install update 2 on top of update 3 does it remove update 3? I ask because sometimes I might need to be on a lower version of a game for cheats to work.

The second post was so rude that i tried to clarify the situation!

I think that it will not compromise the game if you install a earlyer update after a newer one .... but don't quote me on that!

what do you mean by compromise? does it revert back to a lower version or does it not do anything?

I'am not sure how those files are installed on NAND or SD.
But i think that you can install update 3 and after that update 2 and it will not be a problem.

Because i've installed BIGGER updates and they use as much space as they have.
Game 10 GB update 1 has 2 GiB update 2 has 2.5 GiB after installation 14.5 GiB are used

But again don't quote me on that i may be wrong!

I haven't confirmed this anywhere, but it should work, but the saves will probably not if they've been used on a newer update

Actualy it does. If you install an earlier update, you will actualy 'downgrade' to that lower version.

@jaysea is right!
Testet with "Enter The Gungeon"
