Hi! I have a question to ask, hope I can get a good answer.

I've been using OOT3DHax for a while now successfully but now I would like to start playing with CFW.

I have an old 3DS recently updated to 11.8. I want to do the Frogminer method, but you need Steelhax for that, and I'm concerned.

Do I need to uninstall OOT3DHax before trying to get Steelhax (I only need it for use with Frogminer)? If I leave it as is, will anything go wrong? What should I do?

Thanks!

  1. No, OoT3DHax is a savegame exploit, so no uninstall needed. Just install steelminer (steelhax + seedminer) first. A guide can be found here.
  2. After installing steelminer, use FrogMiner. A guide is found here. Once done with FrogMiner, steelminer WILL break. Just uninstall Steel Diver: Sub Wars.
EDIT: Before starting, please turn off "Allow friends to see what you're playing". IT HELPS YOU NOT GET BANNED.
EDIT 2: Finish up CFW using this.

Technically, since you can access the Homebrew Launcher through oot3dhax, you don't actually need to install Steel Diver – but you'll still need your movable.sed to encrypt the Frogminer exploit.

oot3dhax will also break once you've installed Luma. (oot3dhax and steelhax both ultimately use otherapp.bin.)

Well, then, they can just follow the Finalizing Setup in my post and then they have hblauncher_loader
