I'm a bit unsure about this.

If you were to get Nintendo Switch Online, would you get banned if you had any Custom Firmware or Homebrew on your system? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

If you have any traces of CFW or homebrew on your system and you go online, you will be flagged and banned in the next wave, simple as that

I figured that a ban would be a result of buying Nintendo Switch Online. I just wanted to make sure.

The fact that you bought Switch online service doesn't matter. even if you didn't have an account tied to your switch, you would still get banned if there is any trace of you utilizing homebrew or CFW. Hope that answers your question.
