This is according to r/switchhacks on Reddit. I have not confirmed this myself, but am going to once I am home with my switch. Apparently, if you turn on airplane mode while installing a >=10GB nsp, your console will brick. The issue was reported on GitHub, but was deleted by Blawar. (Which I guess you can now delete issues on GitHub? WTF?)

I am not saying that this is malicious, I am not 100% sure this is true yet, I am not saying he deleted the issue because he wants to brick people, this is just a PSA at the moment until somethings are confirmed.

This is also according to the same thread over there. I will be editing OP with more info as I test.
Tinfoil (TM), former DZ - bricks consoles.
Goldleaf that is former tinfoil - works fine.

Edit: Finally home and able to test. Nothing happened when using confirmed .nsp files. I would like to try the pikachu brick, but it probably won't do anything, so no need to mess with it. Guy must have been talking out his ass, carry on regular everyone, sorry for the scare.

There is an issue in the github and so far the person making the claim has not provided any further info to reproduce the issue and a video showing the process working in action without causing a brick:

As much as I would love to see the app having a major bug like this, it'sfake. It's easy enough to test and confirm yourself though. Make a nand backup and have at it.

Thank you, I'm at work and doing everything lowkey right now so I wasn't able to check myself, just wanted to get this out there.
edit: Video is not showing for me, mobile or PC.
edit2: Thank you, got the vid working. Maybe it's when installing to the NAND that it bricks, like I said I will test every possible scenario in about 3 hours.

Fo sho, always have a NAND backup lmao, like I said will update OP once I test, or someone else does.

Tried it and didn’t brick, but why would someone even do it in the first place

I installed Zelda via Tinfoil through Athmosphere two days ago (latest builds). I definitelly was in airplane mode w/ NFC and BT enabled.

Cannot confirm any issues.

I wanted to test the tool once under 5.1.0 (actually use n1dus) to determine whether the required FW version is ignored during installation too. The installation should be done under the SX OS via the USB Dock. When the program starts, the message that masterkey 6 is missing appears. Ignored the tool actually the FW version during the installation, or not? If someone could tell me that, then further testing would not be needed anymore. Thanks in advance!

@BATMAN- Yes!

When I start Tinfoil, I get a message that masterkey 6 is missing. In addition, I also get an error message during the installation "NCA signature verification failed" The installation I have tried with SX OS via USB with a memory stick at the docking station. FW 5.1.0 - tested game Dark Souls RM. Any Ideas?
By the way, the same installation under n1dus ran smoothly

No, actually. The NSPs it installs fail integrity check when you verify them through System Settings.
Yes that is really annoying the installer has had this issue since day 1 TX know about it and they have not fixed it their opinion is the sx installer installs correctly others don’t this is why it flags up on a check but I won’t use it because of this I don’t think it’s right. If an nsp fails an integrity check then I would say it’s wrong whether it works correctly or not! I don’t know of any other nsp installer that recreates this error apart from the sx installer.
