windows 10 strange audio issue

so, recently for no apparent reason, if Im playing a video or something and pause it, then after X amount of time resume the video, my entire windows audio sound will not play until I switch sound devices or change volume or something. this seems to affect the entire system audio completely, anyone any ideas what could be causing this?

what is your sound driver
realtek audio?

Just using the intel audio over display port, I've forgone using the Realtek stuff, unless it still uses Realtek for just audio over DP/hdmi its a 8700k, it doesn't seem to affect my hdmi connected monitor though. other than that I use an external dac for headphones

Maybe its the latest Windows 10 Update(s):

What´s your Windows10 Build Number ? If´s Ver.1809 then theres´s no wondering...
You can Google that theres nothing but Trouble with the October Build Update thats why its temporarily removed from Microsoft...
You can only use the latest INTEL or REALTEK HD Sound Drivers.Maybe it works maybe not....
But help is on the Way,Microsoft is to release the "good" Update soon....

yeah it does seem like since the last couple updates its started I thought it might be that, hopefully it might be fixed soon , just annoying for now lol
