The best I can do is spread awareness. I will feed into what they want and give them the attention they asked for.

Just to take a picture outside of the box (since i'm not a victim, but as more I've read, the more I got infuriated), you're dealing with two individuals, with one possibly a minor (if high school is what I think it is, since that term doesn't exist where I live), so respecting whatever privacy laws is important (then again, the internet space is not exactly nation-spesific).

and there are plenty of people who are more than happy to smell blood on them. The responses in reddit, and even in this thread is enough to point.

Also, disregarding the age, look at the behaviour, and you'll see a pattern. One of them already confessed to looking at himself similarly to a well known psychopath (at least Google identifies one). The responses, and their lackadaisical, nonchalant "oh it happens, not my fault" kind of attitude implies that they're not remorseful at all. Sure, their identities are still very much protected, but if something ever happened, I doubt sympathy is even offered. (inb4 white knights come in and say cyber bullying).

Like I've said, I don't hope for anything to happen (good or bad), but if anything, they should not expect favourable responses.

Lets stay at the drugdealer scenario:

Your drugdealer gives you something that looks like it could be a gun, but says it's not a gun. You take it, and shoot yourself with it.


Joking aside, all these hypothetical scenarios can't be compared to what happend since traffic law etc. is not internet law.


Personally i don't think that this would hold up in court, i mean Microsoft releases updates which can delete your data without huge consequences. It probably would be a diffrent story if you had to pay for the nsp..

But we only know for sure if somebody takes it to court for real ^^

Aight lets stop arguing now, it won't do anything. But try to find a solution for the people without nand backups. It must be someway to fake the prodinfo or heck even somehow flash the eMMC with new made up keys so it accepts them. It's a hell of a job I know, but nothing is impossible.
