Hacking Question Does this downgrade method work?

I tried downgrading my cart by deleting the game and then booting it without internet but it required an update. Do I have to factory reset my switch for it to work? If not how can I downgrade my cart and play it?

So I won't have to factory reset? Awesome. But what do I have to do before I boot recovery? Just delete the game and save data? Also to get out of recovery mode you just reboot normally?

Booting to recovery removes the update nag.

Hey so I tried the booting to recovery mode but it still tells me I have to update the game. Do I have to delete my game's save data as well?

Theyre talking about game updates, not system updates

If you are using firmware 5.x or below, DevMenu's ResetRequiredVersion can allow you to run a lower game version again after having ran/installed a higher game version/update.

Since the Switch remembers it ran a higher game version, it won't let you run the lower unupdated game version.

Not sure what you can do for firmware 6.x though, since DevMenu no longer works. Factory restore should work, I guess. Maybe just backup your saves using Checkpoint.
