Hi there,

I bought a replacements wireless card for my xbox one, however it does not have the metal part on the back like my current card. Im assuming it has a crucial purpose but I would just like to confirm this with someone who is well informed. I was unsure where to ask this and I apologize in advance if I missed a 'noob questions here' thread. Thanks

The new board:

My current board (just an image from ifixit, however its the same):

Wow no reply.
The part in question should be able to come right off, and be transferred to the new board. Either with a little pressure, or a little heat, doubt it serves a very important purpose though. Maybe just for heat dissipation.

Yeah pretty dead here. I appreciate the fact that you replied even though this issue is old. I tried taking the metal off, but it didn't come off with reasonable pressure. In the end, I just sent a message to the seller informing them of the missing part (it was in the picture on the listing), and they refunded me. I then bought one which was fine. Fixed my controller connection issue which was a pain for a while.
