Hi all, i have a question

( version 6.0 )

I have been reading around seeing a variety of things to do before homebrewing one’s switch in terms of backing up and for the purposes of restoring if anything goes wrong

(emuNAND, boot1, etc…)

If possible, can i have a little assistance understanding a comprehensive current list of

  • What should be backed up

  • What this does or is used for

  • What tools/apps i will need to do this

Thanks for any assistance

You should backup rawnand.bin, SYSTEM, PRODINFO, PRODINFOF, BOOT0/1, package1 and 2 (not sure if needed) you must get your BIS/TSEC keys too

This is useful if you brick to repair the console or if you want to get back to a previous state (don't restore a NAND backup to downgrade if you updated official way)

You can have everything except BIS keys with hekate payload
For BIS keys you use biskeydump payload

The NAND is the chip that holds the data in your system (firmware, saves, games ...)
