Im running 4.1 and when i pushed the payload for reinx it gave me the splash screen and then when I tried to go to album it said i needed to update for sdxc, but the album didn't take me to the homebrew launcher. Now my pc says that the switch is malfunctioning when i try to connect it to push the payload in rcm. What's going on?

You inserted an exFAT formatted SD card into your console that doesn't support exFAT. Your 2 choices are to update your firmware officially and burn fuses by going to the latest firmware to get exFAT support or format the SD card to FAT32 and use homebrew to get exFAT offline via ChoiDujourNX.

how do i get the computer to recognize it again? do i need to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them?
Not sure what you did to do that (exFAT has nothing to do with this). Hold the power button for 12 seconds and if your computer isn't detecting the console at all, I would recommend restarting it; the drivers should still be there.

it only gives me exfat and ntfs options when formatting. is there a different program that will let me make it fat32?

If I dump a physical game, say Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Splatoon 2, and ran it by one of the possible ways available right now to run backups, would I get banned for taking it online, and would this apply to backups of digital games too?

Correct, Nintendo doesn't care whether you own the game or not; they only care if you violate their ToS which is accomplished by hacking such as running dumped games rather than in their original format. The chances of a ban are diminished if they are used with their respective certificate/header for .XCI files or valid tickets for .NSP files, but the risk remains.

Well I guess it's another reason to buy only single player physical games and multiplayer digital games. Dang.

Has anyone encountered a weird freezing issue under SX OS in TV mode where the game would suddenly freeze and the TV would make a very loud buzzing sound, and when you take out the Switch from the dock, the screen would be in black and there's nothing you can do except doing a complete shutdown and reboot? This only happens in TV mode and with my XCI games, all legit games never have this issue.

Hi all,

I had originally posted this in another thread, but I think it's a more appropriate question here.....

I'm curious.... with the 6.0 update out now (officially), can anyone confirm if they ran into problems just updating the 'legitimate' way?
For example, I'm currently on 5.1, SX OS 1.9, Auto RCM, several NSPs installed, currently not banned (would like to stay that way but not bothered if I do).

I would like to be on 6.0, SX OS 2.0, Auto RCM, but if I update through OFW, can anyone confirm if any of the following happened to them:
- Did you get banned through the detection of unofficial NSPs?
- Do unofficial NSPs get deleted?
- Was the update successful?
- Was Auto RCM removed and you had to 'reinstate' it?
- Anything else to be wary of? (not concerned about efuses, just the ability to play all games when they are released)

I'm still weighing up the pros and cons - ultimately when Smash comes out I will likely need 6.0 to play it.

If all I want to do is play the latest games (that require up-to-date firmware), shouldn't I just update the emuNAND to 6.0??? (I saw another thread to do this).

Kind of confused......

Thanks for your time.

Finally hacked my switch 5.1.0 and using to NS Atmosphere dongle to inject payload.

1. I'm using ReiNX now. Are there any advantage to inject Hekate and load ReiNX from Hekate? Or is it fine with injecting ReiNX all the time?

2. After install .nsp files through TinFoil, I am able to delete the .nsp files using NXShell the first time. But I can't delete the files anymore the 2nd time I use NX Shell. Is this a known issue? I select the file , press delete and nothing happens.

3. One small problem. I booted into RCM and I ran Hekate through TegraRCM in Windows and realized I forgot to copy any files into the SD card. Also I forgot to delete my WiFi settings. So, I switched off the switch and booted into NOS right after that to delete my internet settings. After that I Turned off the switch and the Prepared the SD card and booted into RCM again and injected Hekate And backed up my NAND and boot0/1.

Throughout the process I did not run any CFW. Is my NAND still considered clean? Or did I screw up big time?

Thx.

I'm kind of at a loss as what to do next. I recently updated my switch from 4.1 to 5.0.2 using ChoiDujour and I can no longer run Monster Hunter Generations ultimate (have the game cart). The error that pops up is either the 2011-0301 or that the app cannot start. I don't understand what to do as the other 23 physical games I own which are Sonic Mania, BOTW, and Octopath Traveler work fine. I tried reformatting my sd card back to exFat to try and restore my NAND to start over but hekate doesn't detect the backups I made. Is there some huge step I'm missing?

Since the only reason why I'm using homebrew in the first place is for save edit purposes, would it be easier if I;
-Restored my 4.1 NAND
-Burn fuses and update to 6.0
-Start to run ReiNX or whatever and use homebrew then to edit my save files
But if I were to do that and start playing online games or purchasing e-shop titles I would still be setting myself up for an easy ban right?

Switch is on latest version, setting up SX OS. Am I supposed to use the emuNAND to play legit games and to update to later versions, or do I use the sysNAND? I would be installing NSP files and doing homebrew on sysNAND offline mode exclusively without updating too, right?

And can I make emuNAND without a valid SX OS license? I don't have one now because my dongle broke before I could activate.

With the new SX OS 2.0 release, I have a few questions.

Due to it being dual boot, and not a true EmuNAND hosted on the SD, I think I'm going to not use the EmuNAND for now. I'll wait until an SD hosted NAND is available.
  • The new update offers NAND dumping. Does this mean that Canna's NAND backup tutorial is no longer needed to be followed? I.E. Does the SX OS NAND dump give the same results?
  • As I'm not using EmuNAND, am I still safe to update to 6.0 FW without burning fuses, by using rajkosto's tutorial? I.E. Is the latest firmware safe to use without EmuNAND?
Thanks.

I have a switch from a friend, he has updatet from 5.1 to 6.0 and now 7 fuses are burnt,
Is there a way to get back or are to many fuses burnt?!
And before he update, he has a emunand backup installed (5.1) and he can still boot into it.

Where is the difference between:

Smash Hekate => Launch => Payloads... => ReiNX.bin
and
Smash Hekate => Launch => CFW

What is launched when I select the latter Option?
