v0.2.0 released.
Changelog:

- game now utilizes hardware accelerated OpenGL ES 2 based rendering;
- added app icon.

Download is in the OP. The hardware renderer is still probably buggy and unstable. Please report all bugs either to this thread or to Github issues.

When starting a new game while in a current game locks up and have to hit home. As well not a bug but the hub display is really tiny in the game

Yeah I got a orange screen lock up when trying to start a new game while already loading save.

And like the other member said the HUD and text is rather small. A display thing rather than a big I guess.

Other than that it's smooth as silk at 720p. Nice work!

Orange screen means GPU crash. I'm aware that the crashes happen, but I'm not sure what causes them yet.
GL Quake 2 will probably come in a couple days.

idk why but when i switched to reinx 5.1.0 i can not start the game or the expansions it doesnt crash it never starts and stays by the homebrew menu with nothing on the screen

Either you got the archive flag set on the Quake files or you forgot to put in id1/pak0.pak. If it's neither of those try reinstalling nxquake from scratch.

Seems like a pretty great port. I only have one question. W h y is the water effect moving the vertices of the level geometry? It looks horrible.

Hangs at menu screen after choosing one of the 3 packs with a fixed sound; i can exit to switch home menu. No error log created in nxquake folder. Started with HBL from SX OS and from normal HBL launch.

try the quakespamNX by the same author, its the same (OpenGL, extra missions etc) but with music too!

For me neither one of them work, QuakeNX boots into the menu but then I cant choose anything and cant start anything, home button works.
QuakespamNX doesnt start, just goes back to HBMenu

Guys, I need some help.


I’ve got an hacked switch with Atmosphere 0.12.0. I tried downloading QuakeNX from the HBstore, but everytime I try to launch it I get an error message. (2345-0031).

Tried with QuakespasmNX: that does not give me an error message, but simply does nothing. Screen goes black for a while, and then back to the HBmenu...

I’m not exactly an hacking wizard, so I need some giudance. I would just love to have Quake 1&2 on the go.

Suggestions? Thanks!

EDIT: ok, launching the BH menu using game+R allows me to launch QuakeNX. However, I can't do anything. I see the gameplay demo but it registers no input.

Use Quakespasm. This port is far inferior.

Did you actually grab all the games files from a pc version? Go read Page 1 of Quakespasm thread. You need to copy over some .pak files from a PC install. Those actually hold all the game data.
