Hey thanks for this great homebrew, its really nice looking and handy.

I know its early in the lifetime, but i was wondering if it might possibly be handy to directly have file information displayed on the main screen, (size, filetype, ect)
Basicly propperties without having to go trough 2 menu clicks everytime to get to it.

Hope to see futher improvements in time :)

It used to be like that before, but the screens for the 3DS is rather small, so I decided against that.

Release v4.0.1 is up.

Change-log:
  • Added touch controls in update menu.
  • Added music lock toggle using the Start button. (Prevent skipping with L/R buttons when the lid is closed)
  • Properly return to previous directory instead of first entry if you press B and the selector is > 5.
  • WiFi icons are back!
  • Power off top screen back-light during FTP mode to save battery.
  • Finally fixed UTF-16 file names and paths. (Now works fine with accented characters/symbols)
  • Fixed milestone updates not being integrated properly. (Should work fine for the next official release builds)
  • Fixed crash when trying to use the Keyboard (rename/new folder/search).
  • Fixed the progress bar colour in dark theme mode.
  • Get album list just once instead of multiple times to avoid random crashes due to multiple calls in a short period of time.
  • Fix issue with audio decrementing when shuffle is on.
  • Fix 'freeze' when WiFi is not enabled.

Loving this amazing project so far, and thanks for everything. This is now my go-to music player for the 3DS.

Quick questions though: Does my cover art need to be a certain size to show up when playing a song? Because my cover art doesn't show up for me, it just shows the music note icon. And does it read cover art from the folder (cover.jpg/folder.jpg), or from embedded in the music file?

Sorry, but there is no cover art implementation currently.

Text reading will happen at some point but books, probably not. Iirc someone was working on an ebook reader, maybe you can look into that. Thanks for the kind words! I'm always looking to improve.

I meant bc there are books in .txt format :)
I don't think anyone will make a decent ebook reader so if you support that in the future I'll be happy enough!
no problem friend! good work deserves appreciation and this is great work. you're very talented.

basic .epub support would be more than fine for ebooks. It's the best and most common format out there for any device.

Nice, I was looking for alternative to booting in GM9 all the time, and I love the theme, reminds me of ES File Explorer. Keep up the great work.

I am gonna leave a small request to be chuckled at or pushed to the back pile, ID3 Tag editing.
