Deja Vu wasn't fully patched out on firmwares 5.X hence why it hasn't been released yet. The exploit needs to be reworked for it work for the higher firwmares as well as the lower firmwares but the point is that while the ipatched and Mariko units are immune to the Fusee Gelee exploit, they are still vulnerable to Deja Vu.

Thanks for explaining as always man. I didn´t even know about this "ipatched" units, they´re already in the wild right? I hope they get hacked deja vu in time.

Correct, the serial numbers thread has already started collecting on which Switches will be ipatched or not. They also seem to ship with a firmware of at least 4.0.1. If you manage to procure one, either do not update the console or exchange it for a non-ipatched unit.

While I won't deny the possibility exists, the primary reason Mariko units are going to be hitting the market is to counteract the bootrom exploit known as Fusee Gelee. Not to mention that Deja Vu has not been released and only a part of it was patched in 5.X; its unlikely that Nintendo will be able to fully patch out an exploit they are not aware of.
It wouldn't be enough to only patch fg. They will probably do a whole update of the bootloader.
I agree they might not know about the bootrom vuln, but apparently, it is already somewhat public (in project not related to switch hacking).

Is there a release date yet or is it out?
Not officially, but pre-compiled builds of Atmosphere have been in use for months now in the form of starter packs such as RajNX and tomGER's SD Files. The only difference between these packages and the official release is ReSwitched's own bootloader, Fusee, more specifically Fusee Primary.

For most users, the difference is extremely negligible. The only difference would be having to use a different bootloader to use Atmosphere but the files, features, and setup will be the exact same as everything else. Actually, Fusee has less features than Hekate as a bootloader so most people may likely switch to Hekate even after Atmosphere is released as it is objectively superior for the time being.

Came here to check things out with atmosphere. Couldn't believe I'll end uo learning different seasons. Meteorological? Astronomical? Man, in our country we only have summer season and rainy season. Oh and we consider september 1st the beginning of Christmas season, does that count as well?

Defo interested in how SciresM is going to deal with hacking Pokemon because we all know that's probably a high priority and not to sound like a specific youtuber but It looks like no more cheating at tournaments, oh happy days.

I have a few questions about this CFW:
1- Would it work similarly to the CFWs we had on the 3DS?
2- Will there be an SysNAND and an EmuNAND, where the SysNAND never gets updated?
3- Would it get you banned when playing legit games online (as apposed to pirated games)?
4- Would buying games from the eshop still work?

  1. The CFW itself may work similarly to the 3DS but the exploit is launched completely differently
  2. EmuNAND is being worked on but there is no estimated release date on when it will be available
  3. Connecting a hacked console always risks a ban, regardless if you own the games or not
  4. As long as you are not CDN banned (this is a level above a normal console ban which prevents all online functionality from working)

So the servers check more than just the game's ticket when connecting online?

People have been banned for using .XCI files online so they can check more than just the ticket. There is a lot of telemetry sent from the Switch that we do not yet fully understand.
Yeah definitely this. That's one thing that's putting me off at the moment. I've spent a fortune on the eshop and don't fancy getting banned for playing even just old emulators. Nice to see what atmosphere will bring though.
