Hardware Computer speakers refuse to work on other PC

This is a bit of a mixed bag, I believe it to be both software, and hardware related and here's why. This is regarding my parents'/brother's PC, not mine. So, my brother won a free Vizio sound bar, right? For a couple of months, it's been working great with Windows 10 64-bit home. However, it all came to a screeching halt last night when audio refused to output. See, what's weird, is that when I check the sound settings in the OS, the audio is "playing" as I see the spectrometer going up and down. This tells me that there is audio outputting, but not going through the speakers.

We've uninstalled the audio drivers, reinstalled it, rolled back, updated, everything, even running the audio troubleshoot tool, nothing.

I've never seen anything like this, and we're not sure what's going on, as there is little to go off on Google. We tested the speakers with a phone, and used Bluetooth to run music, and music worked fine. So, if it's not the speakers, then what is it? We've changed out cables, tried different ports, nothing works. Could it be that the aux audio input jack on the sound bar is damaged/unusable? Could it have been an update from Microsoft that screwed it all up?

So hang on, have you tried plugging the phone directly into the speaker jack on the sound bar? Because if it worked then it's not the sound bar. It does sound like a driver issue or hardware failure of some sort, though, and it's most likely on the computer's end. If you have any other (even cheap-o) speakers, go ahead and try plugging that into the same jack you were plugging the sound bar into, and if it still doesn't output sound then that could be it. Otherwise, I was going to suggest running the audio troubleshooting tool, because that's usually great at catching driver errors, but it seems you've tried that already. Just for kicks, though, give it a try one more time

This is just plain baffling, like, I've troubleshot similar issues and fixed them no problem, but this is just frustrating. No, we didn't think of that, but we will certainly try that as well, and also we should have another pair of speakers to try, provided I can find them in the bedroom we use for storing old things. The troubleshooting tool detected no issues with the device drivers, I ran virus/malware scans, even ran sfc /scannow and it turned up no errors in the OS. So as far as the OS goes, it's clean/not corrupted as far as we can tell. I use "we" as my brother is fairly tech savvy too, so we were trying these last night. I'll test the aux cable to my music player and then try another pair of speakers. Will report back.
