Given that we have Super Bomberman R and emulators, what is the best bomberman game for switch from singleplayer to multiplayer?

Just start with the first super Bomberman on SNES, then work your way up as you get bored... They add more features and get wackier as they go

Well I was thinking more about the multiplayer aspect.. I really liked bomberman DS because of the customization and would love to have something like that on the switch

Only multiplayer one on the switch is "R". The SNES ones are pretty straight forward.

The best 3d adventure ones were on the n64 and GameCube. I played bomberman hero and bomberman jetters.

Bomberman 5 on the SNES is the best one IMO in terms of features. Bomberman R has the 8 player multiplayer though.

Best multiplayer was Saturn Bomberman, so if the Yabause core for retroarch becomes good later, be sure to check it out.

Recent years I haven't had much opportunity to play local multiplayer (I don't tend to bother with online), but I've been working my way through a lot of Bomberman games' story modes, and they all have their charms.

I couldn't agree more. Saturn Bomberman is just plain awesome. I even tracked down an old CRT just to play it again.
