My switch showed this error after updating to 5.0.1 and It has been stuck in a boot loop. Today i got it to boot by holding down the volume down and power buttons until the screen goes blank again after the nintendo logo but before the switch logo. This seems to work about 6 attempts out of 10. Everything works fine until i go into sleep mode and try and wake the switch up again i get the same error message and reboot into stuck on switch logo.. Anyone know whats going on here?

If those steps that they outlined weren't able to repair your switch, then you may want to either call Nintendo, or restore a Nand dump from before updating to 5.0.1.
I have never hacked before today (checked to see if rcm mode worked) so i don't have a nand backup unfortunately and i am out of warranty. My other switch that ive hacked to the moon and back still works fine too

Ouch, I'm not sure if there's a way to recover at the moment without a prior Nand backup.
Sorry you had to learn how important it is to make one of those this way.

I knew how important it was. I just didn't want to take any risk of banning on this switch and never really thought i would need a nand backup from a non hacked switch.. its why i bought two lmao.. iv'e just found that if i put it into sleep from the menu and wake with the home button it works fine and i dont get an error.. soo strange.

For clarification, were you updating to 5.1.0 (latest, through normal means) or 5.0.1 (through hacks)?

Because rcm isn't detectable, nor does it leave behind any traces if I recall correctly. So if the only thing you did was enter rcm, then you should be fine to try and get them to repair it.
In this thread Nintendo apparently agreed to fix someone's switch free of charge for a save-related bug, even though it was out of warranty. I imagine if they would pay for repairs in that situation, they may do the same for you. Though if you send it in, they'll probably give you a new unit altogether if they can't fix it. Possibly ipatched too.

sorry updating to 5.1.0. And I only entered rcm to see if the switch still worked at all. Its sort of working but its a right pain to deal with. ill contact nintendo and see what they say. Cheers for the help
