trying to compile it myself, trying to do the git submodule command, it does not actually download anything. no error code or anything, just waits for like 5 secs and then nothing.

it works, thanks !

I did not get what happened with SD files V5 and Hekate CTCaer mod v3: it directly boot in CFW and LayeredFS didn't work (only homebrew). So I went back on my configuration based on SD files V4.1 and "kernel-patched.bin".
I just received my 256 GB SD card so I was able to test a lot of new games with this configuration:

FW: 4.0.1
Games: Bayonetta 2, Crash Bandicoot, Disgaea 5, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Mario Tennis, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Zelda Breath of the Wild
Donor: Super Mario Odyssey
Boot: yes
Save: yes

Game: Mario Kart 8
Donor: Super Mario Odyssey
Boot: no

It is amazing to see that even games which requires 5.1 (Crash Bandicoot and Mario Tennis) can still work on 4.0.1! I hope it will be the case for Octopath Traveler too. :)

What kind of bootloader do you use for your backup games ? I cant see my games :(

The same thing happened to me, although I didn't have a backup of my "Nintendo" directory. I managed to fix the problem under Windows by running these commands with cmd:

Code:
cd /D X:
attrib -A -R -S -H /S /D
attrib +A Nintendo
cd Nintendo
attrib +A /S /D

Replace "X:" with the actual mount letter for your SD card.

EDIT: Updated to avoid adding the Archive bit to files and folders outside of the "Nintendo" directory.

I tried to do these steps on a windows box but it didn't seem to work. Fortunately CTCaer has a fix in his master branch just waiting for a new release version. Hopefully soon.

@OperationNT did you followed the guide to make exfat working in lower fiwmware ?
in your case 4.0.1

Yes, I followed this guide long time ago. I didn't meet any issue for the moment.

What kind of bootloader do you use for your backup games ? I cant see my games :(

You mean the payload? I use the one provided in "SD LayeredFS files v4.1" package.

I can launch it with ct 3.0 and the sdfilesV5
But i cant see my games when i go to album ? I have placed my backup games on the root of the sd card.

I think you are completly confusing "LayeredFS" and "Team Xecuter SX OS" backup loading:
- With Team Xecuter SX OS, you will directly see your backups and you will be able to mount them from album
- With LayeredFS, you will "replace" a game you "truely own" by another one (the icon will still be the game you own but when you start it, it starts the backup instead)

Here, we are only talking about the second solution (which is controlled and free due to the fact that it's open source).

I've seen someone reporting MK8DX working over a game, but i can't recall which one and i can't find the thread. Anyone have seen it ?

I think manually updating MK8DX will get it to work with LayeredFS, because from what I've read that seems to be the case with getting it to work with SX OS. I know SX OS and LayeredFS work differently but I think it's worth a try.

That means i'll have to dl the whole game with eXhop to get update ^^

I'm trying to extract game and update .nca into a romfs folder, I can extract the game, but I can't get to extract the update, It says Section 0 is corrumpted

I'm doing this: hactool.exe -k keys.ini --romfsdir="gameupdate\romfs" --exefsdir="gameupdate\exefs" "gameupdate.nca"

You forgot to specify the main NCA location

Sorry thats what I meant :D

Yeah, Mario Kart doesn't work with any version for me; on to Doom (Unlike Mario Kart, Doom loads for a short while and only gets the error after attempting to launch its title screen).
I think people should be experimenting, rather than expecting everything to work though. The most compatible donor titles for me have been Disgaea 5 Complete Demo and Splatoon 2 World Premiere.

Kitten squad is another great donor title, very high compatibility. MK8D won't load with any donor I've thrown at it. I'm using sdfiles v41 w. Hekate 3
