Hacking Question Extract the licence from SX Pro ?

Hey there,

Does anybody know if it's possible to extract the licence from SX Pro to use it with the payload method.
My concern is about if the device SX Pro die, or if i want to order a licence during waiting for pro.

you can probably activate it once (going online and activate it) and then you don't need it anymore. (maybe)

Yeah but when you order one, the licence is not assigned to your console at this moment.

Im pretty sure the SXPro itself is just a payload loader and then they send you a lincense key to type in so technically you dont need the dongle and could just use a pc

Nope, license is on the dongle. After you activate SX OS, it’ll make a license.dat that’s unique to your console onto your micro sd card that you can back up.

So the answer is :
- launch with classik payload is ok (if SX Pro break or is lost, until you got your key, you are ok)
- extract the licence key before pairing is no possible yet

What I'm gonna do is email them and tell them my dongle is broken and I'll need a license number or they have to send me another one

They'll opt for you taking a long walk off a short pier. The SX Pro's embedded license is a different type than the SX OS one, it will *not* work for standalone activation. Also, telling them that you broke your SX Pro doesn't entitle you to anything. They will not gift you a free SX OS license just because you tell a sad story. Give it a shot and we will see!

Back up your license.dat file. You don't need the dongle inserted to verify each time, as long as your have the license.dat on your SD, you're good. If you lose that AND the dongle, you can use the license-request.dat file on the website to get a new license.dat. If you lost your dongle, license-request.dat AND license.dat file well then you kinda deserve to re-purchase it.
