you may have to use wup. we can't provide the fw.img for it unless there's another way. you can find a tutorial on it in the forums. there may be an uploader for this, but I'm not really sure. there's gotta be an easier way than wup.

cmon guys :D where are all the hackers and ppl that understand how the internals of the wiiu work

we need that easier and working way of changing channel icons

it would look something like that:
zULQUq1.png

that would make our main pages way cooler :) doesn't those icons look way nicer? i would even share those images

those are pretty nice. I don't know what else you can do if ftpii u everywhere has issues with injecting image files and not being able to use wup. you may have to uninstall cbhc, then try using wup.

it's possible that normal sig-patched cfw (cbhc) has access to wup or maybe even mocha. you're supposed to use it while on the home menu. I'm not sure what happens if you try it anywhere else, but that's what I did.

don't worry about uninstalling cbhc if you need to. it's a painless process. just open up cbhc installer, then choose uninstall. I did this when I changed my exploitable game. it was yoshi's island, which is why that title id is in that one wup command. then, I changed to brain age. :D

i got it to work finally!

i did everything right, it was just the wrong file direction.

so you just use fptiiu everywhere with cbhc, connect with a ftp client and you need these directions:
usually normal icons of games are stored in storage_mlc01 (or usb) /usr/title/00050000/title id of game/meta
but icons of games that have patches overwrite the icon that is located in 00050000, so you have to change out the icon in storage_mlc01 (or usb) /usr/title/0005000e/title id of game/meta !! that did it.

and as known the tga file must be exact the same size as the old one. and it has to have the footer hex
Code:
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 54 52 55 45 56 49 53 49 4F 4E 2D 58 46 49 4C 45 2E 00 00 00 00 00

that worked for me.

EDIT: so no wupserver was needed. everything worked with the latest ftpiiu everywhere

congrats! hmm...that's interesting. I never knew that about the patches. I always assumed that the original files were just overwritten.

yeah i just read about that in another thread after tons of searching and googling

well, at least we both learned something new through this tumultuous process. I was pretty confused as to why ftpii u everywhere wasn't working.

this is very cool.

I'm busy searching for a way to change the folder icons. I have NES VC in 1 folder, SNES VC in a 2nd, etc. I'd love those folders to be console icons. I'm sure the answer is, can't be done but I'm searching anyway.

my guess is that if changed the folder icons, they could only be changed to one other icon, so folder icons based on system wouldn't work.

So this method does work, however, I have a very specific task I'm trying to accomplish, perhaps someone could help me. I'd like for the alternate icons and splash screens (These files are in the same directory) to only appear after I've booted SDCafiine. The reason being that I've added so much content to Smash Bros that I now call my version Super Smash Bros. Deluxe with a new title screen and everything. I'd like for the icon and splash screens to reflect this but only if I've booted SDCafiine, else if I boot it normally, it should look like the standard Super Smash Bros for Wii U as we've always known it. Can this be done? If so, please let me know what I need to do. Thanks.

Hello fellas...

Fellas, can i add a picture to a folder icon ?

I have created several folders with VC games like NES,Turbo Grfx 16,Super NES and other Retro console games. The icons look bland and boring with just text.

Can i add a picture to the folders? Say a picture of the NES console.

Putting games in their own folders are good for categorizing and cleans things up a bit but it still looks ugly as hell.
