As TWLoader states before the game is launched, a donor cart may be needed, and given what has occurred, then it's needed.
The cart should contain a FLASH save chip. Check for what carts you have here.
the only cart i have is a black 2. will this work?

twloader shows the cart as an sdk5 rom.
does twloader use the inserted rom as a donar cart?
The game you're running will use the save chip in the inserted DS cart to save.
It's due to SDK5 saving to SD card not implemented yet, and as a result, the game still reads/writes to the cart for saving.

i backed up and then deleted the save of black and white. then deleted the fe12.sav and still get this message.

Is the cartridge still inserted when the message appears?
If so, then you'll have to buy a compatible cartridge, or wait for proper SDK5 save support.

what carts are compatible

sorry for all the question

Um, Ive decided to try this first before I get another flashcard to play nds games.

I kinda don't understand how to run this yet, but I believe I figured most of it out.
I got Mario Kart DS to test see if it works, but I dont see an option in the settings to make it a donor rom cart?
i'm using the latest twl loader 6.6.4 update from the github.
when I select mario kart from the menu, the nds boot comes up, then it shows an error message,
"an error has occurred. press and hold the power button to turn the system off. please refer to the operations manual for the details."
I do have dsi games working as I can zelda four swords from the 3ds menu but it wont play mario kart ds from the sd card with twl loader.
Is there something im missing ? maybe the twl firm is patched to work with this?

---
I attached what I have currently on my 3ds sd card with the following files with twl loader, if itll help with anything.

-------
Ok I scanned the qr codes on the op and now I gotten mario kart ds to load from the sd card of the 3ds.

Now there are other games I have that when trying to run it say bootstrap missing and press b to return to home menu.
whats that mean? that particular game wont work?

After updating I stopped being able to play Megaman ZX and ZX Advent. I checked the compatibility list and both are still marked as playable. Anyone have any idea of what may be wrong?

You're right. They stopped working.
At the time of releasing 0.8.0 of nds-bootstrap, I was still only testing both games on DSi. They still work there.
I'll try to fix them so that they work on 3DS.

Bad news. Both games also got the "donor ROM breaks compatibility" effect, as reported for Yoshi's Island DS and The Legend of Starfy.
So, in order to fix compatibility, you'll need to turn donor ROM off, and you'll need a physical DS cartridge to use as donor for saving, which is currently the case for SDK5 games.

Well that sucks. Is there a list with carts that work? I will have to backup and delete the save file in it in order to use it too, right?

Hi Robz8, I've got the Error! and the red cross-like pic Message when trying to play Trauma Center 2: Under The Knife (first time I play it on twloader, so there's no save data). I have an old 3dsxl with Luma3ds 9.0 + boot9strap1.3, last .3dsx version of TWLoader (not the demo), MKDS already as a donor, both .cias installed. Idk what's wrong. I've checked already with the compatible games, but as it is outdated, I thought TC2 was fixed (that may be the problem, if someone could tell me if TC2 is working plz). And I've heard (don't remember where lol) that you can use a ds cartridge as a donor rom, but when pressing select, nothing happens. Is that true?? Thx
