Hello, could someone bring the game Half Life with Xash3D on Switch? as it already exists for PSVita? thank you

libnx needs 3D acceleration, then it becomes possible
That would be amazing! I wonder how the FPS would be though. What was the fps like on PSVita?Hello, could someone bring the game Half Life with Xash3D on Switch? as it already exists for PSVita? thank you
I doubt he would be asking if he knew how to in the first place. Was your comment necessary? Why don't you do it?![]()
Dear mother of god I want to play quake3 while on the trainThis. Which will also allow for a port of, say, ioquake3!
If someone wants something done they should at least try to do it themselves first, instead of having their hand held the whole way through, and then wanting credit for the "idea".That would be amazing! I wonder how the FPS would be though. What was the fps like on PSVita?

Okay you are delusional it seems. Have a good dayIf someone wants something done they should at least try to do it themselves first, instead of having their hand held the whole way through, and then wanting credit for the "idea".![]()

Don't be an ass. Simple. If someone wants something done they should at least try to do it themselves first, instead of having their hand held the whole way through, and then wanting credit for the "idea".![]()
I actually looked into doing exactly this last night, however unfortunately, I do not believe that a Xash3D port will really be possible right now, as there does not currently exist an OpenGL wrapper that can be used with libnx. Indeed, Xash3D-FWGS supports SDL, however as far as I am aware, an OpenGL pipeline is still necessary to actually use the engine.

Right now, we're in a position where neither libnx nor libtransistor have any support for 3D graphics acceleration, so no OpenGL, OpenGL ES, Vulkan, etc., so we are currently only able to port over games that use, for example, SDL 2. In fact, I don't believe that the SDL 1.2 port has been completed, either, so games like OpenTTD which rely on SDL 1.2 cannot be ported over yet either. It's still very early on for Switch development, and I am rather confident that we'll see 3D graphics acceleration supported by libnx and/or libtransistor in the rather near future, but until then, this is where we're at. When we do have that support, you'll definitely be seeing ports of Quake 2, Quake 3, Half-Life, etc. pop up rather quickly.I assume this is the same for Quake 2 then? As it uses OpenGL.
I really don't understand much about porting, but I've seen some documents out there that provide enough information to do it... However, if we can't get it to support OpenGL it's pretty fruitless for the time being anyway, or am I way off base?

This is the stupidest thing I hear from people when replying to people asking to have something made. They don't do it because they don't have the experience. They also don't want to learn for 3 months. Why don't you do it?![]()
There's no need for a "someone plz make a game for me" thread. It can be asked in an existing topic. As I said, pointless.Yeah people get really weird on here when someone is basically just thinking out loud

I foresee it running rather nicely on the Switch.

EDIT: SDL 1.2 *is* available for the Switch under libnx, it's just incomplete & not available under Pacman in devkitPro.
Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like it would be easier to do under a Linux distro then, for now at least. I've seen a lot of different distros, but they are all pretty incomplete... Either joycon support, or hardware acceleration, but haven't seen one with both.
Ultimately that's a bandaid anyway, it would be much better under something like atmosphere than booting Linux each time. I guess patience is a virtue... Til then I have doom.
