i have mixed feeling on this because the way i see it who is going to dload and play EVERY game the switch has cause they don't have a lot of awesome games as of yet i doubt i will be able to fill up my 256gb sd card with actual games. Now on the other hand i do kinda wanna just have every single game just for G.P. and i most def wouldn't want all that filling space on my on he go card

Forgot to hit the quote button :(

As of now we possess everything we need to load backups. What we are missing is an implementation.
Just have patience and wait for someone to put it together (and keep in mind that no one is getting paid to develop for you).

If you don't want to wait and have the expertise and time to spare, start coding.

It's unlikely we are missing any keys. Due to rcm mode, we practically have access to the entire system. With the right apps for rcm, you could even mount the switch internal storage and take a look at it. And if we are missing some, it won't be very long until we find them. So it likely we could do that. However, we still don't know every single nook and cranny that Nintendo has implemented into their telemetry system. Which could mean the might be able to figure out if you own that title or not, and if you don't they could ban you. Plus the scene is still very young, so implementation of that hasn't even occurred.

We don’t know if Nintendo is able to check if a cartridge has a good header without going online. Best case if nothing gets left over in the Nand, we could go online with purchased games and use cfw offline in sysnand

We're still in the early stages of the Switch hacking scene. Pirating games on the Switch probably exist but not for the public. Nintendo's sales decrease a lot due to piracy. Just get a job and buy the games yourself

To answer your question: Are backup loaders actually necessary?

No they are not, you do know there is place called:

They carry things called 'Switch Game Cartridges', all nicely labelled and boxed up for you. -- Don't worry if you don't have the cash, there is 'backup ways' to get your goodies! :)

Interesting. What about third-party games? I've heard those are around 20 GB in size. Anybody tried untrimming those?

I made a page on the Wiki just for this, I only added the information about the games that I have but anyone is free to add their info too.

This wiki is also mentioned in the first post of the XCI-Cutter thread.

Oh, this is quite useful! One question, why are all of the decimal points popping up as commas?

Guess we should remove the decimals and just round the MB to avoid confusion? :)
Don't know how well I can speak for others, but comparing the 2 numbers against each other, the trimmed one must be lower than the untrimmed one logically speaking. Thus I was able to deduce that the commas were acting like decimal points (however at this point I didn't know why and I didn't want to make any assumptions). I leave the choice up to you, its not as if the world revolves around America :P

Dat CRT though

I love piracy, I will pirate nintendo and whoever I want to, if you do not like it, well it does not affect me, its fun to see people so anti piracy that are triggered when the topic is up, I am the kind of pirate that do it for fun, I can buy the games, but I choose to invest in hardware instead of software, am I right? or am I wrong? either way I am happy doing it and nobody is damaged by me, because I wasnt going to spend the money in that anyways :P for me a backup loader is needed, because piracy is what I want, I will not cloak my intentions on backup loading or playing the games I buy, I just want free games on my brick that I barely use
