Hacking Luma chainloader not booting up

I am currently using a O3DS, with luma 7.1, i havent been on my 3ds in a long time, so i went on a discord group to find new updates on b9s and luma, since me opening luma updater just crashes and tells me to restart my 3ds. i used the guide updating b9s , and redownloaded the files twice aswell, ontop of checking if my start button worked. When i boot up my 3ds and hold start, it just boots up normally to the hub.

First, redownload Luma 7.1 (7.1 not any other version) and replace your boot.firm. Double check you have SafeB9SInstaller.firm in your luma/payloads folder.
If it still doesn't work, show us a screenshot of your luma/payloads folder so we can see what's wrong.

I redownloaded luma 7.1, but when i was gonna replace the boot.firm it wasn't there in the first place. But i took pictures of each of my steps, the first picture being the root of my SD card.

Nah still boots straight into the main hub like the 3ds hub instead of chainloader

It sounds to me like your 3DS is not reading your SD card. As a matter of troubleshooting, I would try it with a different SD card. Alternatively, you could backup your files, reformat your SD card, and try again.

I mean my SD card is fine, able to boot up many games still. so i don't think that's the case

Sorry, let me rephrase. It sounds like B9S isn't able to load the boot.firm on your SD card, for whatever reason, so it's defaulting to the boot.firm on your CTRNAND each time. This can happen even when your SD card works the rest of the time.

You could use FBI to move the luma folder to CTR-NAND/rw so you can access the payloads from your system, since there's something wrong with your SD card.

At the very least, it's a good way to troubleshoot the issue and at least confirm that reading from the SD card is the issue.

CTR-NAND/rw?? i dont have a folder called CTR-NAND

Nvm, i moved the luma file to the CTR-NANAD/rw and it worked Thank you so much :o
