"Now with PS4 Controller Support!"

NOTE: Controller sensitivity may be to high and the deadzone may be to off. Controller input mapping and configuration WILL be updated in the future.

There are two releases this time. regular PS4 DooM, and Brutal PS4 DooM alpha v0.1.

- Blood Spraying Effect added to Gunshot wounds
- Dynamic Lights have been mounted to Imp's Fireball explosion, and to Blood droplets

NOTE: keyboard and mouse only, some users report no issues wile others report that a keyboard and mouse dose not work for them in game on there ps4. I'm currently looking into this.

The next release will have controller support

General documentation and directions are to come very soon. I would also like to see this open for modding so documentation for that, as well as unity project files are on there way.

(off topic: how can i get a download link onto my post on this site? any advice. at the same time ill continue to try to sort it out. sorry for any troubles.)
 
What source port is this based upon?

Unity reads Doom1.wad (shareware version) upon loading the projectfile and uses the data is sees to build GameObjects that make up the world around the player within the editor before compilation of the game is made.

I meant in regards to GzDOOM, ZDOOM, Zandronum, Odamex, PrBOOM Plus, etc.

Well I call it PlisskenDooM.
What you named are all source ports of doom, there all also game engines. There is no source port here in that there was no original source code used to construct the game. THe only game engine at work here is Unity. Hand crafted scripts see to it that Unity reads a .wad file and takes what it sees inorder to construct the game world befor compilation into a ps4 game and that's what I call PlisskenDooM.
 
Whats next in the pipeline for this project? Or the next? (Replys = post count)

I'll release a update tomarrow. I got two new builds. Two different installs. Controller support for both. One build is called Brutal PS4 DooM test and has new blood particles added with a few other special effects, but hopefully it will be v1 of many brutal ps4 DooM builds to come.

I may also make some custom maps and release it as a developers edition.

I'm going to type up some documentation to release soon exsplaining things.

And a few other things but my tablets keyboard is acting up so I'll get back to yeah on the rest.

Can anyone other then the three ps4s I used please confirm that keyboard and mouse works for them in game. THanks. I'm jus trying to get to the bottom of why users are experiencing keyboards and mouse not working in game, if they exsists. I can confirm that one user, Maby two stated that keyboard and mouse do not work in game with there ps4s. Thanks for anybody who test. I'll give thanks in credits to. @Snake_Plissken This looks amazing, if you are using Unity, is it ok if you port it to uwp as well. I can help you with since it is very easy to convert from unity to uwp and it will run on xbox one. And I have experience with that since I ported sonic realm to xbox one already.

I didn't know you can use Unity to load wad files

Nice job op, from the video it looks pretty convincingly like Doom.
yeah very nice job indeed, if it runs well to unity, it would be awesome to convert it to uwp since this is a very easy and short process to do from Unity

lol I really messed up that new video. Oh well, I like it tho.

Are there any other alternatives when it comes to classic Doom on a hacked PS4? I've got GZDoom running Brutal Doom on my Switch, and was quite surprised to not find anything similar In the PS4 homebrew store.
