The scene will continue just as happily as it has hopefully someone will just leak/RE the payloads of this so we can 'pirate' the pirate.

Piracy was going to happen sooner or later, there's already huge steps taken towards it right now. This will have no impact on people creating the homebrew, Scires and crew will still work on the CFW.

If anything this will be at best a healthy dose of competition to make a great end user product, at worst an expensive niche option for others.

I can't see how this is anything but a good thing long-term tbh, but I haven't thought about at length.

It's not a matter of just piracy. It's a matter of people profiting on that. I just hope all this makes the prices of the Switch games to drop, because the same games for other platforms are some times half the price.

Pirating from the pirate enablers, this should be fun. Better yet, people could examine their code and use that to develop forks of the more general-purpose Atmosphere instead of having to use Team Xecuter's obviously more "targeted" CFW.

The effect on price that this will have on the old Switch with the exploitable flaw! if you can buy one now do so to flip if for a good profit. Again Nintendo will make money off this.

I'm not interested in Xecutor's CFW but if we can load our own payloads on the thing, then it's a convenient buy for me. I have no problem spending money on things that are worth it. But if it forces you to use their software then I'm not interested.
