Hardware Safe to use Battery Packs?

with just now finding out about 3rd party docks and FW 5 Killing off switches, i'm scared to use any of these Battery Backpacks. andi want something a lil more beefier than this little 6000mAH battery bank (which i mainly keep for my phone when i need to go out somewhere by ride shares (uber/Lyft)

are there any known Safe to use battery packs or is anything outside a battery bank that just charges over a normal USB-C Cable and the switch dock/ac adapter (offical) the only safe things to use at this time? as i dont exactly have the 320$ish (tax and everything.) to throw at a replacement switch if i get a battery back for it to find out it just is going to brick it on first or 2nd use.

I have used them battery packs with the fast charge. It has not caused a problem. The fast charge ones are powerfull enough to charge the switch while playing.

They say not to use any fast charge port on the switch as it doesn't support samsung, google and other devices makers fast-charge feature technology and its even worse for the Switch...

The best is really having a power bank made for USB-C based laptops with 15V output and use a good USB-C cable with around 56K ohms (I guess you should just buy any certified cable to handle the extra power).

That's just not true. QC chargers won't damage anything. They will only use QC when it can communicate with the device and establish the device supports it, otherwise it just outputs the USB standard 5v

People should be afraid of cheap Chinese electronics in general, especially ones involving powering your other expensive electronics.

I have no idea, I know Switch can't use its protocol, but its the same hardware technician that tested a lot of power banks and USB C cables that said not to use USB-A to USB-C fast charge USB ports as they are the worse, I have no clue...

All I know is he fried a laptop just by using a crap USB-C cable, usually USB-a to mini or micro USB is not as problematic as when using USB-C cables, I guess same goes for thunderbolt too which apple is having a huge amount of problems with that crap chip and when it blows it burns the motherboard completely around that chip.

It might not charge quickly but it'll be fine. Seems these forums put a bit too much thought into what is and isn't safe for the Switch it seems. Literally saw a thread asking which HDMI cable to use with the Switch the other day. What?

that i can understand if its overheating things way too quick/high (maybe its something relate dto why these 3rd party docks are frying Switches?) what im using when i use my battery bank is teh same USB-C cable i got with the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro controller, not bad but somewhat prone to kinking. (flat ribbon style cable)

unless people are way to confusion about quality to output display quality sure but unless your running the dock i think at what is it? 25+feet away from the TV the kind of HDMI Cable shouldn't matter. (i just dont remember what the distance cutoff is when it begins to be an actual issue to look into specialized HDMI cabling)

I've literally been charging my switch on trips with a QC power bank and a USB a to c cable. As long as both are good quality it won't do anything to the switch.
Tell me, have you heard anyone bricking a switch with only the charger? So far every single one I've heard of was a third party dock. I've been using power banks and a third party charger for well over a year no problem. As long as you aren't plugging a laptop usb c charger into it, most of the decent ones that advertise switch compatibility don't output enough power to damage the switch.

Yeah, in fact I only heard about the docks or just the Switches dying by them self (defective or badly designed).

But the guy that tested a huge amount of stuff to me seems kinda reliable, but like he said a really bad USB-C can fry anything laptops, smartphones, switch... I guess it's more when someone uses just as much copper to use 500mah USB2.0 standards on things that go to a high wattage and heats up all the cables.

But anyway I my self when I will buy a Power Bank I will definitely go with nintendo standard of 15V 2.6 Amps or more. I have seen a 20A laptop USB-C 15V on ebay for kinda cheap, but sadly its only in US and I can't find it anywhere .

ps: Anyway I don't want a power bank to charge my Switch, instead I want something to keep my Switch at 100% battery all the time while playing like with the original charger this will also prevent me from doing too much cycles in its battery and instead use more the power bank's battery which I don't care much if it dies fast.

However it has Power Delivery and as much as ppl recommend PD, I my self would prefer a static 15V output than relying on a chip that we can only imagine that will detect exactly what switch needs and give it exactly 15V, and what if the bastard somehow gives it 20V?

Power-only devices should be fine, I’ve only ever heard of bricking when using third-party devices that attempt to power the Switch in Docked Mode. Your standard power bank should supply 1-2A of current, which should be safe. Personally I’ve tested things like the Snakebyte and Venom Switch-integrated battery packs on 5.0 with no problems.
