Yes,thats why they arent releasing the kernel hack because at the moment that happens, the doors will be open

I don't know which is better, the way Ninty limits our capability to do with the system or the scene does it. Different rules, difference reasons, similar results.

I'm pretty ok with whatever they decided to do with their exploits, it's their findings. Just saying that some people just won't buy games, they won't even buy the console until a backup loader appears. Saying piracy took away most of the profit from the developers isn't accurate. You can't count those piracy as part of the sales. They are not going to buy it in the first place. If there's no piracy, they will simply not playing it. But to prevent such actions which the finical impact is debatable, the cost will be that we can't have a permanent homebrew (w/o the help of an external loader), some tools require kernel access can't be develop etc. Didn't say that I support piracy, just that I value freedom a bit more than commercial profits.

Yes ,at this rate someone is going to leak the kernel hack, I dont know if you notice but pluto encrypted one of his exploits on the hbwlauncher I think, even he say "have fun trying to decryp it"

Yes I did notice and I think he said that because he knew it’s not about the encryption or obfuscation he used. He could have intentionally crafted it the way that even if you got the logic, it won’t have much use due to the incompleteness of the informations left in there or it’s limited in what in can do at the first place.

But we got there eventually in the past. Just think that it could be nice to have them happen sooner. But that just my 2 cents.

Ok, thanks for the answer!

So this can extract the models of xci files?
This just dumps the gamecard. Whatever format or container models are in varies from game to game.

So I see dump NCA, dump XCI and dump Gamecard.

Let me see if I can guess this right:

XCI is a cartridge image?
NCA is an extraction of an installed game, possibly the only format you can retrieve from a digital version?

tried to original dump_nca.js and dumpCardridge.js and it gives error runturbo error not a function. Maybe i trie dump_XCi if that give this error too.

Because any Switch on 3.0.0+ cannot use this PegaSwitch utility yet publically, and even on 3.0.0 Switches it can't dump anything using the 4.X or 5.X ASICs.
You can dump any Cartridge on any Firmware, via homebrew or hardware, afterall Cartridges are not encrypted and even FW 1.0.0 needs to be able to read them, because otherwise you couldn't update your console with it.

But the reason why BBB is the only group, is most likely that the other Scene groups are not ok with these dumps, they are modified and not 1:1 dumps, the Certificate (=Private Header) is removed.
Real Scene is about rules and BBB is breaking some of them for their Switch releases, remember the decrypted releases?

What? The entire contents of a cartridge is encrypted!
The update and normal partitions can be accessed on any firmware, but for the secure partition, chips using the 4.X ASIC require a Switch firmware update to read the contents.
