Hello Tempers,

Just got my PS4 to 4.55, installed hen and installed my PKG files. I noticed my console giving a Update Now or Later screen after game selection every time! I always run updateblocker payload and then hen, currently my console is in rest mode and disconnected from my wifi, not to mention auto downloads are turned off and no update file has been downloaded to my knowledge...

My question is this, can we turn off this prompt? Or are we stuck clicking Update Later for the foreseeable future?

Thanks everyone! :)

an update may have been downloaded. check the notifications screen and delete it from there.

That's just the thing. No notifications seem to show a downloaded update. The only notifications i have belong to the installed PKG's...

im waiting to find a way to remove the downloaded update to. im on 5.01 and im prompt at almost everything i do to update :/ i dont see anyway to remove it so i guess we need someone to create a payload that will remove it?

There is a FTP payload for 4.55. Use it to check the /update folder on the PS4 and delete any updates that may have been downloaded before the blocker.

For a direct way, if you are on 5.01 you need to wait for a kexploit so do don't hold your breath.

The indirect way is:

1) back up your system
2) format you hard disk (initialize system)
3) restore your system
4) ???
5) profit

To avoid to download the update again I would advise to deselect the option in "User Settings" (it's somewhere but don't recall the correct path) and I would blacklist the Sony PSN URLs (choose your method, DNS hijacking, router, proxy)...

I'm not sure, but IIRC even with the option to not update the system automatically, the updated firmware is downloaded the same.

@Shurikan117 @godreborn,

@subcon959 is exactly right, it means you have a pending update in the folder. FTP in and remove it.

ALSO: update blocker would only need to be run ONCE after the update folder is empty, not every time before HEN.

Only HEN needs to be run each time you start up your console.

Also, there maybe a blocker payload now that actually deletes any updates first, but don't quote me on that.

I can only find 3.2 over on lightningmods github. Doesnt mention that feature, but it sounds like that should definitely be a thing!

I have eula.xml, orbis_swu.self, PS4UPDATE.PUP folder,PS4UPDATE.PUP.net.temp folder and updateinfo.bin.

What do i delete? @subcon959

nothing. That's what the blocker creates. It creates folders based on the names of the update files so that the update file can't be put into the directory.

To be honest it's probably a result from the block in place. The system sees something called ps4update.pup and lets you know it downloaded something. Even if you try and update it'll fail and continue.

Thanks! This explains the problem well. :grog:

But if that is the case, then it should be happening with everybody and everybody should be getting that annoying popup to update, right?

So they don't? How strange, this is probably a mistake on my part during exploit installation...

Btw which games does this happen with?

So far it appears on every PKG game I have : Oli Oli 2, Rocket League, Minecraft and Helldivers :wtf:

if you set your dns to manual and use 108.61.128.158
or 165.227.83.145 in your connection settings, you'll get a error message anytime your system tries to call psn.
but you might want to ftp and delete your update after you setup a dns, then run the blocker again

I tried setting both Primary and Secondary DNS addresses to the one provided by PS4 exploit host and lo behold, the Update Later screen dissapeared! Thanks!

I'll FTP and get it the PUP sorted out later. Cheers!
