agreed the switch is the first nintendo console ive gotten that i bought for non-hacking/homebrew use. the games were just to enticing to wait for and the ones coming out all look/sound amazing.

It'll be a while yet until Switch starts getting simultaneous releases, many third-parties are focused on getting other games out that would fit the portable experience well first. Like From Software with Dark Souls (although this is a simultaneous remaster release), Capcom with Megaman/X collections, Sega with Bayonetta 1+2, etc. Third-party support isn't lacking, though. They see the sales numbers, Switch isn't going away any time soon.
The Switch has sold very well, so I hope you're right, but at the moment there isn't anything tangible. These ports carry little risk. We'll see.

You can't take a shield with you and the shield is garbage as a video game player. 3ds DOES have console quality games on it: rune factory, fantasy life, Zelda 3d remakes, Kingdom Hearts 3d, Tales of Abyss, Luigi's Mansion 2 etc etc

wait what nah bruh you're thinking about the shield tv
the shield is portable and can play portal, half life 2, and all that junk

I still use my 3ds more than my switch when it comes to portable gaming (or any gaming really lol there's just waaaayyyy too many amazing games on my 3ds right now <3) :P

You do realize that the Switch is basically an Nvidia Shield right? A Nvidia Shield also offered triple AAA games for less than the price of a Switch.
And since it runs Android, emulators weren't amiss.
yeah.. Nvidia Shield TV

Wich is not portable lol
, and why would you buya a shield tv to get worse looking games when its a stationary android console? your better off just getting an ordinary homeconsole either ps4 or xb1 play games on tv with better quality, srs shield TV has no benefics over any homeconsole, the switch is portable, makes a huge diference...

switch is equivalent to a nvidia shield tv, its far superior than the crap shield portable, not to mention its evrything but portable lol look at this aberration lol the switch is muchmore powerfull and ten times more portable.

They downclocked the cpu and gpu in the switch though so is half as powerful as it.

switch hurts my hands can't play for a long time with out my hands getting sore.

just the processor diference makes it 2 times the shield portable power

shield portable still run on the old tegra 4 and switch runs on tegra x, its like saying that ps3 is more powerfull than the switch because it had 3.2 GHz PowerPC-based "Power Processing Element" (PPE) and six accessible Synergistic Processing Elements (SPEs) or even xbox 360 becuase it used a tricore 3.2ghz cpu, GHZ value means nothing when comparing tegra 4 to tegra X, nowadays a cpu is much faster with much less ghz required.

the portability REALLY enhances games too.

As an example:
BOTW... aimlessly wondering around on the go was... well really nice. it was soothing, calming whilst if i was sat at my TV, i'd probably think it was more boring.

XC2...
The minigame tora tora would annoy the hell out of me if this machine wasn't portable. instead its absolutely perfect. Similarly with salvaging, i actually love doing it on the go but on the big TV could become more mundane.

Looking at my options, I think a gaming laptop is the only solution which is
1. bigger
2. pricier
3. requires carrying a controller.

I'm looking at the laptops available and I'm edging towards a GTX 1060 variant .. Surface book 2/ Dell XPS 15 ... which are like £1500-2700... for that I could buy a hell of a lot of Switch games which makes me being a bit stingy about double dipping on skyrim/bayonetta downright silly!

Easy to be the king when you kinda the only player on the field.

Exactly but I think they're the king because of just how difficult it is to offer what the switch does, in such a small form factor, AND actively support it.
I think people moaning about the pricing of the switch, the resolution the screen... need to really look at how pricey an ipad is first.

BTW fyi for everyone im not trying to suck the switch's dick.. im actually actively looking for a PC equivalent cos my steam library is way too big and I want some portable dark souls 2 + 3

well not to the lack of competition.
nvidia shield portable was out 4 year ago and failled.
vita didnt even dent the 3ds.
and you have mobile phones wich people say are now used like portable consoles, and spite all that nintendo still persists on the handheld market.

most phones don't come with controllers or have buttons on the side and i hate touch controls they are bad for any non tap game. mobile games are only for passing the time when you aren't at home really. I mean why do people think mobile games are good for portable gaming if it uses touch controls its not going to be that good of a game. I would hate for mobile gaming to be the only form of current portable gaming mostly because i hate touch controls and most games on android and ios are cash grabs.

still Nintendo are the only one who still make good family friendly games the best games on xbox ps4 and pc are all violent ones.

well the only advantage is not having to port emulators to the switch.

you can do emulation on everything nowadays, switch does not need to become an emulator machine too.

SOFTWARE is king. The Switch isn't even that comfortable to hold for longer periods of time, especially with the stupid placement of the right joystick. I'm replaying Link Between Worlds which trumps anything on the Switch except maybe Breath of the Wild but they're still two very different games so you can argue that too.
