So 1.7.1 is out already.

And i'm out of the city today. Damn :/

Playing the waiting game until i arrive home i guess.

In advance, do i need to know something before using shaders here?

I didnt even know lol.
But if I'm guessing right, 1.7.1 should have initial support for Switch as well.

Btw you can always check the Changelog in the Github page:
https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/blob/master/CHANGES.md

Seeing the Switch support in the list is painful for me to see, I'd best go on a Switch homebrew embargo/fast so to speak, for a while, regarding news for homebrew, etc for reasons.

Though, seeing this:

  • WIIU: Increased stability during core switching.
Heh :P I like that being mentioned there, more stability ^_^

Tried the latest nightly, dated the 23rd but the mame games are upside down. Anybody else getting this? checked a megadrive game and that was ok.

Hi, new to modding the wii U, I've set my firmware as CBHC, I've installed retroarch channel via WUP installer GX2,downloaded RetroArch_rpx.7z, copied "retroarch" folder to the root of my SD card, deleted the wiiu folder with in that folder, created a "media" file and store the contents of the asset zip file within that folder.
The icon is there in the XMB, when I launch it the retroarch splash screen appears but then a black screen just appears and nothing happens from there, any advice, I'm a bit stuck what to do!

Well, i saw the screenshot with working shaders and inmediatly though of the 1.7.1 version. My bad :/

LOL, well @cucholix was at the right place at the right time, that's all.
Not sure the shaders will make it for 1.7.1 (the shader bundle that is), shader support is already in place.

Installed the channel and got the newest build, black screen after launching :(

Edit: Because I've been using individual emulators through HBL I already had a Retroarch folder in sd/ so I deleted that fully and replaced it with the newest build Retroarch folder

@Itchy_sore_piles

(maybe back up the original folder in case it doesn't work for you)
