Oh is this : "get 1 free table buy the rest of the tables game" ?
reminds me of.... mobile gaming

Eh, without ads, and at least one free table, I don't really equate it like that. Its not the microtransaction hell that those mobile games are, its pay for each additional table you want. Seems fair to me as someone that doesn't need 20 different tables.

I also like how they Switch pinball games can be played on the Switch in the long layout on its side, that's really cool. Unfortunate that there's no easy way to stand the Switch on its side though, short of just putting a balled up shirt or something behind it to angle it against.

It works. Horizontally wouldn't be a problem, as the kickstand is built-in.

Literally just tried it because I have 2 of those stands you posted in question (actually upon further inspection 1 is different, but similar, but 1 is exactly the same), and no it doesn't work. The Switch falls over, if you don't believe me, I can create and post a video for you.

Yup, problem seems to be is that the lower lip just isn't tall enough, the Switch slips back and comes out of the stands.

I just did it with the charger dock and the solid-piece stand--they hold Switch vertically, without a problem. I took the joy-cons off (favor the Pro controller); I'm also tittling Switch at ~70 degrees before I place it and follow the adjustment.

If you can't get it just right, I guess you could counter the back angle about an inch, give or take.

I have a solid piece one for the Wii U gamepad and a different charging dock (for the Switch), and both results were the same, a System that can't be held vertically due to how short the front lip is. Joy cons were off for me too. Glad to hear some stands do work, but as a word of caution, don't go after just any stand if you want this set up, specifically the non charging single piece one you have in the image you recommended simply wont work.

I'll bring my pics and you bring yours. I'm wondering if there are different versions of the same thing?

Well I'm not lying, so here ya go:

This is the Wii U GamePad stand:

Here it is how I wish for it to stay in the stanad, but my hand needs to be holding it in place like you see. Note how the bottom lip hopefully going to hold it all in place:

No matter how hard I try or careful that i am, as soon as I let go of the back of the Switch, it slips forward, and goes over the front lip. The only reason it hasn't tipped over entirely is because the Switch's dock behind it is holding it up here:

My Switch charging stand is the same case. I've seen that Wii U gamepad stand before though, and it does have a larger lip, so you saying that that one works, is believable to me. But last I ever checked, the gamepad charging dock was like $15 or $20. A bit much for all I'm looking to do.

$5.99 from newegg. You can find it cheaper.

Also, both stands work for me, but maybe you could try elevating the non-charge stand to counter-balance Switch? I guess the Switch dock works, but....you know.

1st pic is the charge stand, 2nd is the basic stand. to 70 degree tilt really helps. You could also try 0 degree drop to 10 degree increments with balance checks.

I've tried for minutes, the non charging stand just doesn't work. I don't understand why yours does, it looks exactly the same. Maybe my front lip is mm or 2 shorter, who knows. Point is, just be cautious if you're looking to get a stand for this kind of thing, they don't all work due to the fact that they're intended to hold a device horizontally and not vertically.

Bastards! Making different versions of things without notifying the public--first it was IPS/TN, then it was Pro controllers, now it's the Wii U cradles.

Really, I think there is a difference, indeed.

Either way, now is as good as (almost) any time to snag a cheap charge cradle.

Which of these pinball games is the best? To the googlemobile! Pinball FX since you can flip the screen around, right?

I tested FX and Stern.
I prefer FX, as Stern seems to lag too much. it's not reactive, you see the ball on the flip, you press the button, and it "flips" too late...
I think they tried to make Stern feel heavy, but it's a little too much.

FX is good, even if I sometime find it a little too confusing. You don't always know where your ball is.
It has interesting modes and even XP/achievement to unlock.
I wish there were a board view mode before buying a new one. I don't know what they look like nor if I'll like to play them. You can see what an already bought board looks like without playing, but not unbought one. I'm sure it would help sell more DLCs!

I didn't try the vertical mode, I should give it a shot. I just tried my launch day WiiU Stand, and it stay in place! (not very stable, but as long as you don' touch the switch, even a slightest, it doesn't fall. I wouldn't trust it too much though)

I miss Pinball Fantasy and Pinball Dreams, I spent hours on them
