Yooka-Laylee Gets Nintendo Switch Release Date

YookaSwitch.jpg

Backers rejoice! Almost seven months after other systems, Playtonic's crowd funded collect-a-thon Yooka-Laylee finally drops for Nintendo Switch on the 14th of December. It comes boasting polish and optimisation for play on the go, as well as support for playing with a single Joy-Con across each of its eight multiplayer minigames for an optimal fun to budget ratio. This release is exclusively digital, with plans for a Switch physical edition unknown at this time.

Will you be picking this up when it launches?

Update:
The price has been revealed to be £34.99 on the UK eShop, in line with the retail price on Steam.

I am curious about it because I loved Banjo Kazooie and Banjo - Tooie

but I am not getting it in digital release. I prefer a physical version. So I shall wait and see.

I got my code, but I can't activate it until I get home. Plus I believe it is a predownload and will be locked until Friday
Nah, despite what the update says, you can play it straight away. They must have botched up the code request or something lol.

I’ve preordered the game so I’m really looking forward to tonight to play it. I wanted it back when the wiiu version was supposed to be happening but sadly it never did. The reviews are saying it’s the best version without a doubt!

Edit: won’t let me play the game until tonight :(

Yooka-Laylee is a fantastic game I could not fault it I played the game for hours last night/early morning also if you have completed Mario Odyseey like myself around this time then go onto playing Yooka-Laylee next, it feels so good and the timing of releasing this title could not be more perfect around Christmas I cannot recommend this game enough to anyone.

I got a copy of this game for christmas. I must say. I really enjoy it.

It feels like I'm back in the 90's playing Banjo Kazooie.
I heard some complaints from people about how there is no voice acting, just silly sounds for speach.

Remember what Banjo sounded like? I can still hear Gruntildas awfull skwaky voice from back in the N64 days.

This looks, feels and sounds like a relative to Banjo Kazooie. And if you enjoyed Banjo back in the days, there is a good chance you will enjoy this game.

It took 7 months extra polish/porting time, so there's bound to be a bit of an extra price tag to it. That and cartridges are slightly more expensive to produce than disc. I'll probably ask for it for christmas or some such thing.
Pfffft, Better NOT be. It should have any and all content available, as well as a price at or below $40 USD.

Played it for a first time on Switch just a week ago. While I love it ... frankly I loved all of Rare(ware)'s title almost ... it has some small issues here and there. But still a nice job by Playtonic to say the least. This is probably going to be the next Switch game on my completionist list.
