Hello.

I am having problems with a single game and am wondering if its just me.

I installed Wii U party yesterday and when i launch it. I get a system error saying my HDD doesn't have enough power.
I use a Y cable and have problems with no other games.

Any ideas?

Im using a WD Passport drive and Y Cable, and play that game without issue via USB, Ive never encountered that issue, loading via loadiine? or just off menu ? what brand is the HD?

I use the original drive from a PS4 (cannot remember the brand.) its 500gb and was taken out of the PS4 when i got it.

The game is from the homescreen and it is using a USB 3.0 Y cable. I have about 30 other games installed and they all are working fine.

The Y cable is your solution. It uses the power of 2 USB ports. Just get one they're cheap on ebay like 2 USD or less.

Just digging this up to help future readers out, your problem was not the lack of Y cable, which you were using like you say. The problem is that the copy of WiiU Party you are using doesn't match the region of your console. haxchi makes your console region free they say, and for most games that's true. but for some games, like WiiU Party and Mario Party 10, they need to match your PAL region if your console is PAL. For 99% of other games it doesn't matter, but for a handful of Nintendo published games it seems the region needs to match. There's a tweak that lets you change the region of your console, but imo you're better off obtaining a copy of problematic games that matches your region.

Got same problem on my Japan Wii U. The US region Wii Party U would not run on Japan Wii U with same error you mentioned. My workaround was intall the Japan Wii Party U and replace / rename the Japan .msbt files from US one. It will fix the problem.
