Hey guys maybe dumb question.I read that you have to click the 1 player, 2 player, 2 player options in thy hakchi program for each game.is that true? That would be a lot of work. Cluster said there is a database or do it manually.what's he mean by database for that?

Snes9x supports it as well, but it has to be a more recent version.

I'm not very informed on these things so that's a pleasant surprise! Unfortunately like I said I'm not to informed about these things so I have no idea what the latest version of SNES9x currently is and if it that one is available with Retroarch to begin with? Sorry for so many questions...

I don't know, Snes9x 2010 is the one it uses, based off Snes9x 1.52. It could be added, maybe.

It's automatically done for you. It's really just a cosmetic change to the menu.

Last few times I turned off my mini I instead get a C8 error and have to turn the thing on again to actually turn it off. Basically, it's not turned off the first time I try to turn it off. Do I have some setting which would cause this?

How many games do you have on your main screen?

This is true, but I have found a few that had the wrong setting.
Examples: 2020 Super Baseball has a 2 player mode, but is listed as 1 player. Ballz 3D is 2 player simultaneous, is listed as 2 player not simultaneous.
So some of the games info may need some minor adjustments.

Oh, dam oh well I'm not gonna research every game I add, I'll just discover as I go along and play

Ah gotcha, possibly overlooked by the team.

So I heard retroarch compresses the games even more, but do we have a list of the snes games that need retroarch? I know save states still works so that's great. But retroarch also allows playing sega games and other consoles?

tried on 3 different consoles (not mine haha) but it's still the same : when I hit reset, it takes 10s to go back to home menu, even with only the 21 original games. Retroarch & Snes9x modules are installed, along with the remove thumbnail menu module. Controller hack enabled (select start l+r to reset) :/
Remove thumbnails is your issue it makes everything slow

there is a compatibility list. Lemmie see if I can find it.

NHL 96 & NHL 98 don't work correctly on canoe using No-Intro 1/15/2012. They were reported working on the spreadsheet earlier but just noticed someone updated NHL 98 to "hangs in the game during the match stoppage." I wasn't able to play either game without it freezing at some point, especially after a fight when announcing the penalties it freezes every time. NHL 94 seems to be fine and haven't tried 95 or 97 yet.

Another issue with these games is when adding them to hakchi the max players option is incorrect on every one. They all should be 2 players simultaneously but they either say 1 player or 2 player not simultaneously.

Hello all,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I'll try and make this short and simple:

I know a lot of you added RetroArch with Sega games, etc, but I have both NES & SNES Classics and want to put only NES games on the NES and SNES games on the SNES. I currently have Hakchi2 version 2.11 and am pretty happy with how simple the older version is.

I have about 120 games on my NES classic that I added in .nes format to Hakchi2. If I add more than 123 games, I get an error that reads: “There are too many ROMs to tranfer them at once. Please wait until power led goes out, press OK and follow instructions to continue.”

I'm happy with having about 120 games and don't plan on adding too many more over time. My first question is: Is this a compression issue? I've read people adding 700+ games with no problems.

My second question is: I want to mod my SNES Classic but don't know how to go about it when I already have an (much) older version (2.11) of Hakchi2 for my NES.

I'm a noob so I'm not very good at doing things like this and am afraid I'll brick my system or lose data of some sort.

Can someone please help me with a real simple explanation of this?

I have 165 total with the "pages, split games equally" option selected.

I was trying to minimize the amount of folders for personal aesthetic preference.

looking at the MSU1 files I'm actually going to assume this would be impossible for BSZelda actually because the PCM files alone are 1.9 gigs due to all the audio dialog and the Music that was incorporated like a Orchestra that's disappointing...
