Okay, for the sake of some background, and to clear any confusion, here are my reasons for getting one: :P

- Cheaper than the New 3DS by far, by a good 40 dollars or so, excluding tax
- Same CPU as the New 3DS, 800 MHz, adding support for full speed Snes emulation (VC or otherwise)
- I don't like 3D, as I can't see it due to a visual defect I was born with
- The appeal of portable Snes, that, and Nintendo is too stubborn to release VC on the Switch for who knows when
- The games on the 3DS/VC are quite expansive in its selection, there are close to 200 VC games on the 3DS

I wanted to give it a third chance, and I did buy Breath of Fire on the VC, and the emulation isn't too shabby (spot on audio and visual, looks better than the Wii U VC in terms of brightness, etc). But also to get some closure as well. I saw an ad for it the other day, thought "what the hell" and bought one at Gamestop. I am aware that the only viable method of CFW is to use the NTRHax installed via a flashcart, correct? While I don't plan on necessarily hacking this for some time, I do have some questions and recommendations I wish to ask of the community ^_^

- What VC games do you recommend (GB/GBC, Snes, etc)?
- What 3DS games or New 3DS games do you recommend?
- Settings recommended to getting the most out of the battery life, reducing the need to charging it a lot

I know it's weird, but I wanted to give this another go, and I actually feel very good about this purchase, though my wallet is crying a bit  Totally feel it to be worth it. Any suggestions, etc is appreciated :P

Edit: The system is on 11.5, so hacking will be a bit trickier XD

It depends, what kind of games do you like? RPGs? Racing Games? Platformers?

RPGs would be the primary focus, Maybe some platform games, VC would be nice too, GB/GBC, Snes primarily, Game Gear not so much. ^_^ Ocarina of Time maybe?

My only advice there is to enable power saving, and use the lowest possible brightness level when you can. :P
I forgot to enable that, thanks :P

Xenoblade - a must if you have a "New" system (very good game and story)
The legend of Legacy (good art-style)
Lord Of Magna
Bravely Default/Second (good RPG game, good music)
Fire Emblem (per turns battle system)
Monster Hunter (Good multiplayer game)
Ever Oasis (Good semi-open world game - zelda like - cute characters)
There´s Etrian Oddysey if you are into that kind of game
Dragon Quest...
The Mario & Luigi games
Rune Factory 4
FF explorers (has multiplayer)
Fantasy life (has multiplayer)
7th dragon
Project X Zone
Pokémon (any)
Unlucky Mage (Old styled RPG, good story)

Others
All Zelda games =P
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (nice graphics, interesting game)

Awesome, will check those out ^_^ And any recommendations for VC games?

added a few more games =)
Mmm...
Does it have to be "legit" VC?

No, but on the OP, I stated that hacking a New 2DS on 11.5 is a bit of a pain to do without a NRTHax flashcart, and seeing as I spent a chunk of change, I'd rather not spend a lot for one until I get paid again.

Edit: There is Mario and Luigi Dream Team, I like that series :P

Legit Games:

- Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (hard but satisfying (phrasing!))
- Monster Hunter (I like 3U/4U over Generations - I think Generations diluted the mechanics a little bit)
- Gunman Clive 1 OR 2 (I like 1 better, but 2 has more introduced mechanics)
- Steamworld Dig (puzzle platformer with cute graphics)
- Kirby Planet Robobot (very good, probably worth the look)
- Xenoblade Chronicles (while I'm not a fan, I think the game is worth looking at and playing)

VC Games:
- Castlevania (any and all are good)
- Metroid
- Earthbound (classic quirky RPG with a good battle system)

Yup, it's one of my favorite RPGs :P DKC series is also fantastic ^_^

Already have Xenoblades on Wii, but the portable version I hear is quite good. Kirby is a big possibility, then there's Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon,
Zelda Link's Awakening DX ix another good title, the Pokemon games (is Yellow much better than Blue or Red)?

It has an impressive library, esp. when I last had a 3DS XL, I'm glad I was proven wrong.

Tales of the Abyss is actually a solid game on the PS2, I can give the 3DS version a shot. Star Fox is another possibility, I'll look at these some more and do some comparisons :P
