I recently downloaded Ever Oasis (US ver.) through the newest version of FreeShop, and it appears that upon booting the game, I'm given an error and forced to reboot. I've recently updated to Luma 8.1 as well, but I'm not entirely sure as to what the issue may be.

I got the US version from FreeShop, and after some digging, it seems that a few other games have caused similar issues, regardless of region. I fixed the issue by downloading through FBI instead, and now the game runs fine.

Sometimes using CIAs are more guaranteed to work. Luckily there are many methods in installing games through CFW now, so when one way doesn't work it's best to try out another inb4 you completely give up.

update to the most recent fw version and set lng emulation on luma, and of course, set a locale.txt for that game matching his original region

some times you have to update the seed for the game with fbi, since 8.1, if there is a game that needs a updated seed, it no longer sticks at the 3ds boot screen, it throws an error

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
