Hey there,

So my brother has a 3DS which he says he's fine with me hacking it, however, his 3DS is on the latest version, which only has the DSiWare exploit, which would have been fine, if my 3DS which had Four Swords on it wasn't broken and lost. Should I block updates and hope that a new exploit comes out (if I have no choice I'll just buy the Action Replay stuff for ntrboothax when it comes out) or should I leave updates unblocked and hope that a version comes out with a more suitable exploit?

Thanks in Advance.

One, if you already have Boot9Strap+Luma you can update your system to 11.5 with no issues. Then you can perform the DSiWareHax. There is no reason to block updates when using Luma. It already hides the update nag, and the console does not update automatically anyhow. That and the most that will break is NTR, which is always updated with the new native_firm requirements quickly.

Two, you can use a variety of eShop DSiWare, not just the ones pulled from eShop. You can inject the hacked save for the exploit into another game. See here
https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(dsiware-game-injection)
Then here for a list of games
https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(dsiware-game-injection-list)
Then follow the save injection guide here
https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(dsiware-save-injection)

You can do everything you're trying to do right now if you got $5 for the any of the DSiWare listed. Absolutely no reason to wait for exploits with a TBA.
