Hi all.

Is it just me or are there more people not satisfied with the nintendo switch?
I have all nintendo consoles since the NES and this is the first dissapointment from Nintendo. (i'm 40 years old)

I played mario kart 8 on the Wii U , so i'm not doing that over.
Never was a Zelda fan , the game on the switch looks great. just not my kind of game.
Now im wandering what will be the next game that I want to play?

the only game im looking out for is Mario Odessey.

The game I still play the most is Wii U sports club.
I hope something like this will come to the switch soon.

last remark , it doesn't feel like a real console , more like a 3ds portable with a tv out option.
the controller and 3d rumble feel cheap and are too small.
and guess what : the pro controller from the wii u is not compatible.
how big are your hands, I have large enough ones to where 2ds feels ok yet joycons are just fine, they seem just right, or are you talking about single joycons? and do you play with them in the grip?

Threads like these make me question the community. For a lot of reasons.

Nobody can convince you to like something you've already tried and disliked. You didn't spend money on it, so no loss there.

You're well aware of what the Switch is. You know what games are out, and what's coming out. Aside from asking opinions of these games, which you can get anywhere with a quick Google search, there isn't much we can tell you.

All I know to say is .. patience. You decided to be an early adopter of a Nintendo console, and there are always pros and cons with that. The 3DS struggled so badly at launch they ended up doing a price drop and that Ambassador thing, but a few years later it had a kickass catalog and lots more on the way. Also, OP, you're getting older and frankly that means you're going to reject games out of hand that other, younger people think are fantastic. I'm 50yo and I know this all too well. My daughter just got the Switch and we are both playing the hell out of MK8Dlx and I can't wait to get Zelda, but she's more excited about Splatoon2 while I couldn't care less. It's just not for me, but I can see it's a great game.

i know it sounds weird , but name a game that EVERYBODY loves even your grandma and grandpa ? yes its wii sports fun for everyone...
As has already been said if you are looking for a new Wii sports good luck with that next to nobody wants to see that on the switch and besides what can nintendo actually do to it to make it a worthwhile purchase they pretty much have nothing they can add to the the games. As can be witnessed in the wiiu version of Wii sports.

As for your complaint about the joycons I don't get it my brother is 6 foot 9 inches tall and has hands like shovels and has zero problems with them.

I think there was a much bigger population of people who didn't like the concept of Wii U. Thus the reason it sold like ass. Switch is a much better concept, and it looks like a real console even when portable. 3DS looks like it came from the early 90s by comparison, like somebody rubbed Vaseline all over the screen.

I wish I could help.
I still havent opened the box :tpi: Got zelda, Mario Kart and pre-ordered Splatoon 2 but I dont think I will open the box yet:rofl2:

Never have I felt such little appeal for something in my life.
When 3DS launched, it didnt have ANY games that interested me much but I still bought it, opened the box and played some Rayman 3D and SSFV.

With the Switch, unless a Pokemon main RPG or something extraordinary comes out, I dont think I will ever open the box.

Mind you, I have played my younger brother's switch. Controls are awkward, nothing to write home about.

How so? The controls are exactly the same as 3DS, except there are two real analog sticks there instead of some half-assed recessed BS. Plus the controller that comes with it can actually be detached and used in a number of configurations, so that's a big one-up on 3DS.

If you take the launch price of 3DS and the launch price of Switch, there's no question which wins out. $250 for 240p vs $300 for 720p/1080p.

So you were happy with the Virtual Boy? ;)

That's the thing with a new console, it will take a while before the game library builds up. I never get a console first year anymore because your just gonna be bored with the system and you don't know that much about what will be released.

I tried the tabletop mode with the joycons in each hand. Just does not feel like game controllers...
when playing it attached the switch, my hands get cramped easily.

I use the xbox 360 controller for playing various games on the PC/emulation. Coming from that to switch, wii u, wii feels horrible.

Also, I dont find the 3DS/XL/N3DS comfortable either. Thank god I only play pokemon on those so the controls arent that complicated lol

Eh, to each their own. I never had any major issues with 3DS controls, and it's sold over 60 million units, so I think more people are fine with that than Wii U's scheme. I love detached joy cons, too. It doesn't feel like the norm, but that's been the case for each new system's controller layout anyway. On my desk alone I've got five different controllers with five different layouts, but changing between them has become a breeze after 20+ years of gaming.

i like the wii u better for now. you have lot of first party games on the wii u like mario maker, donkey kong tropical freeze, yoshi's woolly world, smash bros etc... you also have virtual console games, backward compatibility with wii and gamecube games, free online and you can hack it very easy. it's my favorite console of all time. but the switch can change it for me in the future. it has a lot of potential. just give it time and wait until more games will come out.

Personally, I did not like the Wii U. It had a lot of games, but just felt clunky to me. I enjoy the switch way more than I thought I would. I told myself I didnt want it over and over again until I cracked!
The library is not the most accumulated at the moment, but the games that are out havent disappointed me.
I thought I wasnt going to like BOTW but ive played about 45 hours of it so far. Everyone is against buying mk8d but It feels smoother than mario kart on the wii u.. Plus you get all of the dlc with it!
I cant wait for all of these games lined up for this console!

The Virtual Boy wasn't released in Europe. It's not what most people consider to be a "console" (that can be hooked up to a TV), either.

Didn't know that, I thought for sure it was released in the UK. Feels weird. But if anyone tells me they had every Nintendo console since the NES they better have the Virtual Boy and the iQue Player, regions doesn't matter.

What would you call the Virtual Boy then? I say it's a console, just like the Vectrex is a console.
