currently having trouble with the right trigger button being unresponsive sometimes, the odd part is that it's perfectly fine one moment then it randomly becomes unresponsive.

Can someone please explain?

Blowing into them could be a solution, but a downside would be putting moisture in your trigger buttons and possibly degrading them in the long run

yeah i've tried that though it seems to only work sometimes

Have you tried cleaning them out with some canned air? A little dust can cause a lot of problems
well my 3ds has been sitting under my bed for the past month, though the L button works completely fine

Buttons are weird.
I highly suggest canned air as it won't introduce that much moister to insides of your system.

I usually just moisten a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and dab it around the edges of my borked button. Works well in my experience

The components in the trigger buttons
After getting the tools necessary for my 3DS I unscrewed the bottom and gave a look at the components of the r button, completely clean, everything seemed alright but just in case I dismantled it all, reseated the R button cable and reconnected it (really annoying process) and even after doing all that still was exactly the same. So I may just simply order a new R button cable then replace it. Usually i wouldnt bother with something like this since i could always just buy a new 3ds however since this 3DS has special CFW on it and the latest firmware doesnt seem to have a good method of installing CFW yet I'm not going to give up on this 3DS.
