Hi there,

i have a big Problem with my New3DS XL. I followed the instructions on this Video but ended with the error "Failed to mount CTRNAND". (Yeha yet i'm know i should have follow 3DS guide >.<)
Then i tried to restore from the NAND Backup but it wasn't on the SD Card, but i definitely make a Backup (take about 5 min) and my SD shows more space occupied as the folders are (exact the size of the NAND Backup, about 1.2 GB) -.-
so i tried to restore it, but it didn't worked / the NAND is corrupted.... -.-

Atfer a lil google session i tried 9.2.0 CTRTransfer, with the same resultes, is there any other thing i could try or is the ds now trash?

Thanks

Why the fuck are you even following a video?
Just follow 3ds.guide
Jesus Christ the amount of times this happens is astounding.

This answer is not helpful. This Video hat 100k and not many dislikes and it worked for many people.
Also if i followed the 3DS guide, the same could have happen...

And the tut was just a Video tut forum the written 3DS guide.

Video guides are always outdated, always.

No one is going to be able to help you if you don't specify which firmware you were originally on, in which region.
Every small detail counts and if you knew you should've followed the 3ds.guide before then why didn't you go through that instinct?
Many users bricked their consoles thanks to video guides which get outdated in a matter of days if not a week.
That video guide uses AL9H which is already outdated since boot9strap is already here.
And you can't use the same files from a 2DS to a N3DS, specifically CTRTransfer

Of corse i used the files for the new 3DS. I didn't know 3DS guide before i googled the error, If I had it I would have used it^^
I also use the N3DS File for CTRTransfer and followed the 3DS Guide.

My firmware was 11.3.0.35E, SafeMode don't work, i just can enter Hourglass, GodMode and Luma Config

So technically what happens after you turn on the console?

Did you inject your NAND backup using Decrypt9/Godmode9?

Tried GodMode, Decrypt9 and Hourglass, the recovery program said that the file was in bad shape... :(
(Failed, file is corrupt!)

I've tried this to, same error
I have no idea, that doesn't make any sense. Here's my best guess as to what you can try:

1. Redownload the CTRTransfer using the page of the guide I linked, and put the CTRTransfer, as well as the ".sha" file if it includes one, into your /files9 folder.

2. Download Decrypt9WIP, and extract the ".bin" file to your /luma/payloads folder onto your SD card. Rename the file to "start_Decrypt9WIP.bin".

3. Boot into the Luma config menu by holding "Select" on boot, and disable:

"( ) Patch SVC/service/archive/ARM9 access"

I dunno why the video guide told you to enable that, but it's not necessary from the looks of it. It's probably completely unrelated, but disabling it will help me minimize the different factors that could be causing the problem.

4. Press "Start" to exit out of the Luma config menu.

5. Boot into Decrypt9WIP, and go to "SysNAND Options > CTRNAND Transfer... > Auto CTRNAND Transfer".

Select the CTRTransfer files and do as it says.

If that doesn't work, and it still gives you an error, then I don't have enough info to know what's wrong. Find the log file /files9/Decrypt9.log in your SD card, and send it here, I dunno how much that'll help, but at least it's something, which is more than I have now.

Always follow 3ds.guide and always check your SD card for errors (or better move everything to PC, format it freshly, move files back) before doing anything that has a possibility to brick. This is mandatory. If you absolutely can't afford to lose your device, also test your SD card for errors with h2testw.

I don't know how to fix your problem, but if nothing works, just wait for the newly discovered (but still unreleased) unbrick-hack.

OMG this worked! Thank you so much. Now i am on 9.2.0-20E, i will make 2 NAND Backups now before do an Update >.<
Should i just update now and follow the steps further (Section III - Injecting FBI) or start from new?

I deleted all Files from the SD Card but still 1.2 GB are occupied, there must be the original nand file anywhere xD

Finish this.

Then do this.

And then you'll be done.
