searching cheat is the same on any system with any cheat searching tool
That way would would work better for CTRPluginFramework when it comes out bc of the hex editor and stuff but TCP gecko is my best option for now
either search each memory region one by one or all together
you already have a given address, search the value that is at the address in the memory viewer
well I want to do it from scratch and not dark flares adress

if you can't even find from known address and known value, I suggest you wait for new tools

I might consider that but Nanquitas can help he is the one who created it
not that i have used the plugin but they all are basically the same, can you send screenshots step by step of what your doing, so we can see the menu layout/options.

known value searches are the easiest codes to find, but also as dsrules said codes have already been made for this game.

try this post by Nanquitas

maybe @busmanl30 should give up on this, personnaly I was able to search stuff without even asking and bothering people, don't seem to be something him, + that actually easy to do

I can't help you more than everyone already did.

@dsrules is right, it's the same principle for every tool but you seem to have problem with the basics of a search tool.

If you expect me to write a step by step guide, then I'm sorry but I won't.
Definitely not interested in that.

I do those softs for fun and to help people that want to use them, but the softs are self-explanatory.
I can help with a few misunderstanding / specifics but I won't guide you like a child learning to walk, especially when I feel no sense of self-learning at all.

Ok I'll tell u my instructions

1: connect to gecko correctly
2:DONT use 00-07 if it a changeable value the are CPU instruction
3:'search value examp 59
4:select type data type 59=8 bit
5:search value in HEX format
6:try changing the value( I just collect more gems) example I get 89=59 in hex format
7:changing value don't know how to do yet
PROBLEM:sometimes getting error for values mem range 08-1F
PROBLEM 2: don't know how to poke correctly

Best I got with values

There's exactly what I did

Hopefully don't need to use gecko when CTRPluginFramework is released

i cant say for sure but the above is ??? to me, is this what your following.

Part 3, you say our searching for a value 59 (in game this is dec) then part 7 your searching value in hex format.

now if your trying to search for 59 in hex it will not work because the hex value for 59 is 3B.

if you dont know what dec/hex values then use this site
http://www.binaryhexconverter.com/decimal-to-hex-converter

enter your dec value (the value you see in game) then convert, this will give you the hex value to search.

or if the tool allows you to search for the Dec value then switch it.

I shouldn't give up, it's a thing for me I've been hacking games for iOS and it was easy for me and I had lots of experience with searching values and changing them and converting. It just that maybe I should wait until a new project come oh "CTRPluginFramework" cause maybe it could be a connection problem

I understand your point but the only thing I really not help on is poking correctly bc that's what I get stuck on. If I can't figure it out on one game I'll try another

if you can hack iOS why the difficulty with 3ds, especially known values is a walk in the park.

if you send better pics of what your doing then could help.

yea, ive never used the tool your using but in theory theyre all the same.
Okay but it will make everything x10 easier to figure out my problem

Yes, but i think the connection problem is between you and the software ;)

As others have said, the principles of RAM hacking are the same regardless of the platform/software you're using. Maybe you just don't have the mind for it.

I dont understand if he is able to hack iOS games, why he is having such a hard time with 3ds.

Still waiting for his step by step so i can see what he is doing and try push him to the right direction.

or just advise him to get a gateway card which only a n00b wouldnt be able to understand its basic simple layout.

Sorry i have been busy I'll take the video Thursday or Friday night

I've not tried on 3ds, but I've done it on psp and a little on pc. Should work the same. Choose 8b 16b or 32b, search a value, go back into game and change the value. Go into the cheat searcher and search for a difference and let the list repopulate. Rinse and repeat until you have a small handful or preferably only one line of hex left. Change that value in the cheat searcher, go back into the game and hope it worked. Pretty straightforward.
