is there custome firmwares for a 2ds, which by my understanding is just the same as 3ds without the 3d isnt it? iv been having a look around but not seen anything that pops out at me, apologise if its in the wrong thread

Yes, 2DS cfw is the same as O3DS cfw basically. You can get both from 3ds.guide.

if your on 11.4, you can't install custom firmware
