Copy Character > Monster Hunter Generations (EUR)/(USA) [SELECT YOUR REGION] > Character Slot X (SELECT YOUR SAVE SLOT) > Monster Hunter X (JPN) > Character Slot X (SELECT THE SLOT YOU WANTED YOUR SAVE SLOT TO BE PLACED) > PRESS "A" = YES.. DONE!

I followed these steps, as noted by user TheRisingDragon (thanks!), but when I get to the "Monster Hunter X (JPN)" step, it says "unable to open extdata" and that's it. Do I need to own/have played MHX on my system first?

Yes, otherwise the system wont will localize the game (MHX, in your example)

I registed an anccount juz so I can reply this and say TAHNK YOU !! for saving me so much time I ve spent on MHG
I spent hours research online, tried almost every saving managment tool, without any success.
Your creation is so simple and elegant, I cried after I first tried it with success.
I successfuly transfered characters, within ten clicks, between regions and versions, something I would not think was possible after 3 hours of researching online and trying all those save management tools.
you god
I love you!

I have some shitty news :(
After doing some testing I've found that MHX Data Manager will leak incriminating information to Nintendo when using the "Get Encryption Keys" feature. I've removed this feature and uploaded a new version to my github.
My system has NOT been banned and I've obviously used this feature a ton, so I have a feeling Nintendo wasn't monitoring this information (and if you never used the feature you're good either way). If it has caused anyone to be banned I'm very sorry.

No, SDF exports some extra information about the save file that isn't really needed.

That's the easiest way.

Nope.

Those encryption keys are for if you're using a PC to download the quests directly from Capcom's server. You wont need them.

I've tried to do all of this and I believe I moved the DLC correctly (all I did was copy them from the unbanned 3DS's "quest" folder to the banned 3DS's "quest" folder and import them) because I got a bunch of success messages when I moved the .arc files but the DLC quests aren't showing up in my quest list in game. Any idea what I could have done wrong?

Hmmm, I'm not sure. PM me a copy of your save file after you import the quests. But I'm also working on a code patch that will allow banned systems to download DLC normally in the game.

Hi, I've got a question. I have Mhxx installed on my homebrewed n3ds, but I want to transfer my MHGen save files from my other not-homebrewed N3ds to the homebrewed one with mhxx. Is there any way to to this without hacking my second N3ds?
