Hello, new to the business here and decided to attempt to get CFW on my O3DS after the new release. Used the guide from 3dsguide. I am getting an issue with Section IV during installing ARM9loaderhax process.

So issues is: select+power will boot up into luma, however pressing nothing will just hang the 3ds fully. Pressing start after setting the correct settings on luma config will cause the 3ds to just restart and end up in black screen.

Start+power won't boot into GodMode9. otp.bin was made and its in the correct folder. I have also checked twice now that I have done this step:
  1. Copy arm9loaderhax.bin from the Luma3DS .7z to the root of your SD card, overwrite existing files

As I have heard this may cause issues with CFW not loading, any suggestions as to where I may have messed up?

if you can boot into luma that means you already installed a9lh and luma can not boot 2.1 fw, you need to restore your backup, follow the guide.

edit:

from "prep work"
  1. Copy GodMode9.bin from the GodMode9 .zip to the /luma/payloads/ folder on your SD card and rename GodMode9.bin in /luma/payloads/ to start_GodMode9.bin

start_GodMode9.bin , which from I gathered was the only thing there should be according to the guide. - Yeah trying to follow the guide to get to GodMode9. Unless I have mixed things up? In the part of restoring :>

edited my post but you might not see it, make sure you named the godmode9 bin correctly, the filename is what tells luma what button combination to boot the file with.

Ah, yeah my bad edited mine at about same time. It's named Start_GodMode9.bin under the correct folder.

then it should boot... I never actually hold my button as I power it on, I press power then the button, try that?
otherwise I'm not sure. it definately finds your luma payload (armloaderhax.bin in SD root), but not your GM9 payload in SDroot/luma/payloads/start_godmode9.bin?

Just, restore your nand backup keeping a9lh, and thats it.
How would one go around doing this? As I got it you are supposed to do just that with GM9?

Seems like it. Select+Power on starts luma v6.6 config just fine where I have the appropriate settings set from the guide. However start+power doesn't seem to load GM9. I double checked. Under SDroot/luma/payloads I only got one file called Start_GodMode9.bin that's downloaded from the website as suggested, however trying to open it just causes in the screen turning on black. If it says anything confirming settings on luma causes the same issue.

Tried to change the name to "Start_GodMode9.bin" and nothing changed. The screen will merely turn on but nothing is loaded. Starting to get concerned if I may have somehow bricked the DS at this point.

Attempted naming it start_GM9.bin and Y_GodMode9.bin - File extension names are shown in windows. Still no results. System boots, screen turns black and stays on like that.

Make sure you can view extensions on your computer. If you named it whatever.bin.bin, it won't work.

download hourglass9.bin rename it to x_HourGlass.bin turn the 3DS ON holding the X button.

Select Restore Nand Keep A9LH.

Profit.

Attempted this, getting the same results. Something else must be off. Thanks for the idea though!

I double checked that file extensions are showing.

Hi,
I am sort of new to this whole CFW thing, and would liek to get it for my 2ds. I follow the 3ds guide every step, and am currently using a 16gb sd card. I would like to request some assistance the Safe CTR Transfer process for 11.3 CFW. Everytime that I run it, it will always fail at "CTR NAND not finished" and on the bottom screen, it says nand image failed.
